Getting Old Now

Brought mine in 2002 & other than the computer chip not working correctly for the last 3 years, you can only do full loads as 1 pair of socks takes the same amount of time, it has never broken down. Reading some of the reviews I feel lucky! Easy to use & does the job it was made for.

Servis M6160w (easilogic 1600) Worked Like A Troja

Servis M6160W (EasiLogic 1600) worked like a trojan for the last 3 years multiple daily washes. Bought this on offer and it has worked perfectly every day for the last 3 years doing multiple washes almost every day without a single glitch. However last weekend it died a horrible death and in a split second the bearings went and it made a horrible racket, won't spin and won't drain. However, I feel that this machine served me well for the price I paid (approx £230).

Bought a Servis M6160W brand new, drum sounds like a tractor, put on hold by automated answer service for 22 mins, I eventually just hung up.

Good Machine With Good Cleaning Results And Excell

Good machine with good cleaning results and excellent spin results, just a shame it didn't last very long. Last independent engineer that we called to look at the machine did say that the only problem with Servis machines in his opinion is that they tend to only last 3-4 years

After Having Three Delivered Within Two Months - F

After having three delivered within two months - first one wouldn't even switch on, replaced by Argos within 14 days, then second one flooded the kitchen during the third wash... third one has worked fine for 12 months, so we decided not to bother with renewing the warranty. . . and now literally three weeks after it runs out, all the clothes coming out are dripping wet - the spin cycle which should be 1600 is more like 400. My OH is all for binning it.

I Was Quite Surprised By The Other Review, As I Ha

I was quite surprised by the other review, as I have had almost the same problem with the machine. I also purchased from Argos (Mid July 2005) and paid the extra to have it delivered and fitted within five days.

I was quite fortunate that it worked from the off, and generally speaking it has performed its duties very well (approximately 10 washes per week) - until now. Yesterday the machine decided midwash to keep tripping the electric for the whole house (and will now not work at all), and after getting in touch with the helpline number I was informed that it will be either the motor or the electric board.

I have declined the estimated call out fee of £50 - £90 for one of their engineers, and I am awaiting a visit from a local firm on Friday. Watch this space for an additional update...

I've Had My Servis M6160w Easy Logic 1600 Washing

I've had my Servis M6160W Easy Logic 1600 washing machine for just over a year now, and the other day I returned, and it had apparently just switched itself off mid-wash. I replaced the fuse in the plug. It wasn't that. So, I guess it's repair time. Unfortunately it's outside of it's 12 month warranty, so while I've probably still got a right to some assistance from Argos (from whom I bought it), legally speaking, it might be trickier than I hoped.

So, yes, it's probably fair to say, that it's mostly dreadful, or really wonderful products that end up with reviews on these sites. Most of us don't get around to mentioning products that are "just okay". Well, as you can probably tell, this isn't a review of a "really wonderful product"!

Originally, when it was delivered (Servis did the delivery on behalf of Argos), I can honestly say that Servis were absolutely rubbish. The first one they delivered had flooded my kitchen within a couple of hours. The replacement did arrive eventually, but I can't remember how many times they told me "It'll arrive tomorrow". So, certainly at the time, Servis didn't have it together delivery-wise. So, if you order one, and find it's them doing the delivering, you might have a memorable time of it!

During it's working life it's actually been fine. It totally managed that whole clothes washing thing. The only fault I could find with it, is that while it normally displayed "done" on it's LED screen at the end of a wash, what seems like a software bug results in it sometimes just displaying some number instead. But at that point the wash has actually been completed successfully, it's just not as obvious.

The timer isn't quite as flexible as it might be. You press the timer button to step through the available delay times, and then press the start button. I can't remember what the available times were (and my machine's just packed in, so I can't check), but you can select some delay times and not others. For example it might be possible to delay by 4 or 6 hours, but not 5.

Generally, it's a nice little machine, but if mine can break down in less than one and half years, then it doesn't say much for it's quality does it? So, I can't recommend it, just because I'm sure you'll need it to last a little bit longer than that. I might mention at this point that I'm a single guy who lives alone, so this machine has hardly been worked to death!

Okay - time to do some serious backing down here! Ever find a switch that you never knew existed in your kitchen, which happens to control the power to your washing machine? Ever blame the washing machine when such a switch was in the "off" position, without you knowing? So, basically, what I'm saying is that machine didn't have a fault at all in the end, and is still working to this day, and that I've no big qualms with it at all. Sorry Servis! I'll stand by my statements about the delivery being traumatic, and the first one they delivered not working, and that the end of washing isn't always reported correctly on the LEDs but apart from that, it does exactly what it says on the tin. And it was probably pretty good value for money. Ooops.

Water doesn't seem to enter the compartment that holds fabric softener. I could do with a manual. What should I do?
