LG WM14225FD

I like this LG washing machine, it's easy to use. I've had no problem untill now. As it is 7 years old I think that's good. The problem: machine stopped, warning "UE". The manual code says "call an engineer". I looked locally and was told that as it is LG I should contact them. So I did. I was asked to pay £74.04 by credit card for an engineer to call within 48 hours. I paid, and two men arrived 2 days later. They said nothing was wrong with my machine and left. I was confused. I could not use the machine. It gave the same warning and stopped. I contacted them again. There was a long delay before a man came and he fixed the machine. I had not been told what the part was that he replaced. No paperwork was given. Today, 23 days later, I received a bill to pay £32.53 for the part. I know my machine is out of warranty, but what on earth is that £74.04 for? I am appalled to have had to pay that much in the first place. I would like to know what it was for. I am not pleased with the way that this service was carried out. No receipt was sent after the payment on the phone, and I was not given an engineers report. Plus, they didn't find the problem on their first visit. The total cost of all this is £106.57. LG use contractors for the service work and the one that came here was from H & A based in Clevedon, a good few miles away from where I live in South Gloucestershire. I will not be calling LG again for service.

My LG WM14225FD is noisy and smelly even though I wash the door gasket and surrounding area regularly, most clothes need two washes to get clean, won't take powder or conditioner had engineers out twice but made no difference. I will not buy LG again shame because we love their designs. will go back to a cheap washing machine.
