Hotpoint WMF760P Washing Machine

Agreement with other review: Bought a 7kg Hotpoint model thinking it would be a reliable purchase, with a young baby and lots of washing! Think again - do not purchase this model! After 12 months the plastic paddles inside the drum sheared off, leaving sharp edges to shred clothes on. The rest of the machine looks good and has been fine otherwise, thankfully. Hotpoint/Indesit's response is to try to fleece you for more money, rather than admit it is a design/component quality flaw. Bought a set of non-Hotpoint paddles (~£30 !) and fitted them no problem. They lasted a couple of weeks. Now purchasing three Hotpoint ones (nearly £50 for the set!!) and assume they should be better quality but also and anticipating them to fail also in a short period of time. We will be buying other brands in future.

No problems contacting Hotpoint who then tried "scare tactics" that a coin or clip loose in the drum had broken them off and if they sent an engineer to fix and he found this too be the case then they would charge £££ call out fee

After heated discussions they agreed to send out three replacements which I fitted

These lasted 3 months and broke off again; same scenario with Hotpoint blaming loose coins!!! I have checked again and found nothing

When you look at these plastic lifters and the small lugs that connect them too the drum you will realise that Hotpoint need to modify these and make them stronger

Mind you at they charge £29.16 for three lifters so a nice business in spare parts especially when you see how many companies offer these on the web!
