Hotpoint WF865A

Three pairs of net curtains have been ripped in this machine. My previous machine was a Zanussi which I had for 12 years and never had this problem.I have closely inspected the drum on this machine and as well as having water holes on the side of the drum. There are ten raised holes on one of the bars and these have sharp edges. It must be these holes that are ripping the curtains for the rip is very clean, as if it has been cut with a razor.This is a major fault on this machine. I am now afraid to put curtains, or any delicate clothes in this machine as it's becoming expensive to keep buying replacement curtains.

We had the Hotpoint WF865A washing machine for 18 months before we gave up and took it to the skip - we had Hotpoint out to it three times and it still didn't work properly... we've had 10 years of struggling with Hotpoint goods - never again.

I bought a brand new machine in August, which broke down 4 weeks later. Their engineers have been out twice, unable to fix it, and customer service have been very unhelpful.

Hotpoint used to be a trusted brand, and if your Hotpoint WF865A washing machine works, you'll probably be OK, but if it goes wrong you can expect to be using friends and launderettes for a long time!

I bought this Hotpoint WF865A approximately 22 months ago and it has been nothing but trouble since it arrived!

On first appearances it looks fantastic, however within a very short time it began to rip clothes. None of the service engineers knew why and it still does it regardless of numerous spare parts being replaced.

The next thing was the buttons on the front of the machine literally fell into the machine!

Following that there was also a cycle that instead of taking 1hr 45 mins, actually took 6 hrs! When I returned home and made this discovery the whole house smelt of burning plastic!

The latest problem is that it squeals and rattles and now refuses to progress through any cycle at the correct speed and misses the spin completely. It has also began to leak from underneath and will not turn off at the end of a cycle.

Today I begin my search for a new washing machine and certainly will not be a Hotpoint!

Do not buy this machine whatever you do!

I am on my 3rd Hotpoint WF865A washing machine replacement. The last time it took Hotpoint 14 weeks to replace a machine that was 4 months old, yet their engineer stated it was unrepairable. The F-02 Fault code has now appeared on this 7 month old machine. The engineer has been out three times. I have now been without a machine for approximately 3 months out of the 7 we have had it.
