GE WCVH6260FWW

The washer has been a maintenance problem. Two major repairs in less than 5 years. The control board failed, and the tub structural supports failed. When the washer works, it does a decent job. If GE could make the washer work for more than two-three years between major repairs I would be happier. I wouldn't buy another GE washer to replace this one. I'll look for a brand that offers a better product. Further, GE support isn't helpful with their poor products.

Bought this washer 5 years ago and had it repaired twice. This time, the Appliance Service person said that it wasn't worth the money to repair due to the price of the parts and suggested that I buy a new washing machine. Will never buy GE again. I also had a chewed up gasket among other problems. I only do about 3-5 batches laundry a week.

I owned this washer for 4years, had the boot replaced 3 times and the last time the water fried the motor. I chose to trash the washer instead of fixing it this time. I spent moreon repairs in 4 years than what I paid for it! Not counting the fact that it was loud and ate my clothes. At leat once a week it would put a hole in something! Terible washer!!!!!

I purchased this 4 yr old machine with the understanding that it had a loud noise

and vibration in high speed spin after only 3 years of use. With over 30 years experience

in the maintenance field, I disassembled the drums. I found that bolted to the back of

the stainless steel inner drum was a cast metal support for the center shaft. This cast

support had corroded away and cracked in numerous places. Chunks and pieces of it were

caught in the discharge filter screen. I assumed that part number WH45X10079 had to be a

defect in engineering and some kind of recall or stainless steel replacement had to be

available. I could imagine that all that corrosion and decay had to be causing a nasty,

moldy smell to the previous owner. I tryed to contact G.E. to see if there were any recalls

or upgrades to this $400 part. G.E. customer service was not helpful or interested at all.

They said I would have to call a authorized G.E. service rep at a $75 house call that I

would have to pay, just to state the obvious that a 4 year old machine should not have

had this problem. I would not put the same part back in even if I could.

I am appalled that G.E. does not stand behind thier products or correct them.

Do not buy their machines. They take your money and run.

I HATE this GE WCVH6260FWW washing machine. The gasket had ripped for the second time and I am about to just buy a new washer. It constanly leaks and it eats my toddlers socks. You have to take it apart to get to the "hidden" filter. The repairman got tired of coming to my house to find all the missing socks and so he showed me how to do it and he gave me the codes to reset my washer. It would almost be worth it if my clothes came clean, but they don't........WORST WASHING MACHINE EVER!!!!!

Gasket ripping issue with my GE WCVH6260FWW washing machine (2 ripped, so far in less than 2 years) and the hidden filter. Way too much money for the junk.

Gasket can be temporary fixed with a tire intertube and rubber cement. But why should one have to do this???

The GE WCVH6260FWW is the worst washing machine I have ever owned. GE refuses to admit to the design flaw and if you look up the gasket ripping issue there are literally thousands of complaints

have had to call for service 3 times since purchasing it, about 2.5 years ago, the rubber gasket in the front, by the door, has torn twice and there is an internal filter that is ridiculous to get to.

I would NEVER recommend this GE washer and neither would my mother-she keeps coming to my house and waiting for the repairman!!!

I have used GE appliances for 30 years, and this GE WCVH6260FWW is the only bad product I have had. I was so sure a GE would be the best, but they have really let me down with this washer. Nor will they give you a credit or trade in, when they know they have an inferior product. Why should I have to spend another $1000 to get a decent machine?

Don't buy the GE WCVH6260FWW washing machine. GE doesn't offer exchanges only repair and it takes way too long to get it repaired. 3 weeks of dirty laundry and I have a 3 year old!
