In Addition To My Earlier Post In Connection With

In addition to my earlier post in connection with the Bosch Exxcel 1200 WF02465 washing machine, I wish to add that, coincidentally, I had another experience with this model when I rented a flat for two years while working in Glasgow. That was not used a great deal nor for large washes and the mucky problem only happened a couple of times. But what I did notice and this was the same with the washing machine of the same model at home, was the smell. Whenever the door was open the stink pervaded the whole room. I drained the pump etc but it made little difference. Only after the washing soda flush etc, as described in my other post on this machine did the stink subside. I didn't have the facilities to repeat that in Glasgow so had to put up with it. Thankfully the clothes didn't stink. No stars at all for this machine please.

No Stars At All For This If That Were Possible. We

No stars at all for this if that were possible. We have had a Bosch Exxcel 1200 washing machine for more than five years and steadily it has become all but useless. There is an annular gap between the rubber collar inside the door where it sits just inside the revolving internal drum and the rim of the drum itself. Items of washing work their way into the gap so that they actually are being dragged around just inside the water containment tank. It seems that there is a build up of gunge in the tank on all surfaces and this gets on the trapped clothes. This started when the machine was about two years old. We have always used liquid detergent. All our vendor can advise is to use a washing soda wash at the highest temperature and then a couple of flushing washes. We have done this and we do get some gunge out by also applying a hot water hose jet all round in the gap but now we cannot do a large wash without the staining. It has come to the point that only small washes are possible - no sheets etc. We need to take the machine apart and clean it thoroughly.

This is a fundamental flaw which Bosch may or may not have corrected in new products. When we have told Bosch about it we get no reply. Best to steer clear of Bosch I would advise.
