I Had This Machine For About 1 Week, It Was Spinni

I had this machine for about 1 week, It was spinning on all drying cycles not just the one it should do it on.

Comet exchanged the machine.

I have now had machine number 2 for 8 weeks. This one is worse. It stops working on the hottest wash and turns itself off full of boiling hot water and washing, it intermittently stops on other washes, stops and all lights flash on drying cycles. I have to unplug it from the wall and leave it to cool down for about 2 hours then start again.

faults are not every time, just when it has a mind to fail on me.

The machine gets very hot on top and around casing, even makes my worktop hot even though there is a good gap between the machine and any work tops or cupboards.

I am sending this second machine back, would not recommended it to any one, it is unreliable, rubbish.

Machine Washes Well, However, I Have Had Problems

Machine washes well, however, I have had problems with the dryer not drying clothes and failing to complete a full drying cycle from day 1. Parts have been replaced to no effect. A replacement machine was provided and this had exactly the same problem. The same parts were replaced but still didn't cure it. Do not buy this machine.

I found this review very helpful because...I am also having problems with this machine.

I think I have stumbled upon your problem.

The engineer called to look at my machine yesterday. he took my machine apart and found that the condenser inside the machine was blocked. This will stop the air from circulating on the drying cycle, it may also cause the machine to overheat and not dry the washing.

This was not my problem but was found accidentally while trying to find the problem with my machine.

This condenser is NOT user cleanable and can only be seen my taking the machine apart.

It is a bad design fault, the condenser has a bend in it where it goes over another part of the machine. It is this bend where it is trapping the fluff.

My machine did this in 8 weeks and I do not wash every day only a couple of times a week.

The filter in the front of the machine at the bottom which you should check was completely clean!! It had not stopped this fluff getting in to the condenser.

Looks like this could be a regular problem and the only way to sort it is to have an engineer out every time. That would be very costly!!!

I agree send our machines back.

This did not solve my problems though, he could not find a reason for them.

So I am stuck with a temperamental machine!

I am going to get nasty with comet now as like you I have had 2 of these machines.
