Hotpoint WDL520G

Had my last washer dryer for about 20 years, did not realize how much cleaner everything would be. I made a good choice. I recommend this to any one who needs a washer /dryer combo.

This purchase was a complete let down.

I have been let down in the past and should have known better! I wish I had paid a little more for another model but let my husband sway me!

Don't buy a Hotpoint anything let alone this rubbish washer dryer, we have just heaved ours into the garage to wait for the lovely people at John Lewis to take it away when they deliver our new Bosch washer and seperate dryer and in a queenie strop I have hit it with a sledge hammer and now I shall tell you why.... its just 2 years old and cost £450, everything it washed came out incredibly creased whatever cycle it was oN, the dryer took days to dry anything, just last week the dryer which was supposed to be drying a small amount of pants and socks but it decided to go on and on and on, I had set it off on the 40 min dry cycle went out for an hour, I came back to find it still going and blue smoke coming out of it filling the kitchen, heaven only knows what would have happened if I hadnt come back.

The pump broke 2 days after the warranty ran out, it was so noisy, it used to stop mid programme and refuse to do anything and wouldn't drain the water, meaning we had to undo the filter each time and let the water out that way.

You cant select less than 40 minutes drying time which is no good if you just want to finish nearly dry stuff. My sister also has one and hers is rubbish too but she has managed 3 years to date but she has been keeping the local repair man very busy, hers sounds as if its going to take off and fly her to the moon, you can here hers in the house next door and she is detached!!!! Cant say this enough dont buy one, tell everyone you know not to buy one, tell the world not to buy one, rubbish rubbish rubbish. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Against my 'inner voice', screaming "don't buy a combi" - i Did , 3 years later, I have to tip the machine to the right for it to spin.... :(

My last machine lasted 10 years , I am annoyed to have to be buying another after such a short period, I live alone and really don't generate a gross amount of laundry!!!

It seemed to work ok , the dryer was good, clothes clean - I thought the cycles took a bit too long (info on cycle times would be good)

The drawer for washing powder seemed to stick out a little and not be flush with the machine ( which isn't really a problem for me - its in my basement - wouldn't be practical/attractive in your kitchen for catching on passers by. ;p)
