Hotpoint WD865A

have had this Hotpoint WD865A for 4 years and its been nothing but trouble, we had to buy a extended warranty every year as it breaks down about 6 times a year. often hotpoint engineers dont fix it on first visit which means by the time they come back we are without a machine for about 2 weeks. I think the ' super silent ' sticker on the front of the machine is hotpoints attempt at sarcasm!

Not super silent - infact makes the wall of the ajoining room shake as it's so noisy. we also have to dry everything at least twice to get it even close to being dry.

This Hotpoint is the most unreliable washing machine I have had the misfortune to own, it is just over two years old and breakdown every 3 months without fail.

The dryer builds up with fibres from the clothes then smell of burning and stops working, the engineers constantly remove the fluff. The clothes are never clean, this machine has been a nightmare since the day I bought it, and Hotpoint's after sales leave a lot to be desired.

I would rather was by hand than have another one of these!

Had a Hotpoint WD865A washing dryer for two years, nothing but trouble, my advice is to stay away!

From day 1, even though it states "super silent" it is possibly the noisiest machine ever. the dryer never seemed to dry the clothes properly. Then we started to get F13 error messages. Having looked into this I found out it was a thermostat problem, which I cured myself.

A few months later the problem returned, but this time you could not turn the machine off, you had to physically disconnect the power to it to remove the f13 error message, again I looked into it and replaced a burnt out dryer element and thermostat, however this time the problem did not go away.

So I phoned Hotpoint and they would not connect me to any technical help, and were reluctant to give me any advice. They were more interested in getting an engineer out at £90 per hour, or for me to sign up for an extended warranty.

I decided to cut my loses and bought a Bosch Washing machine (fingers crossed)!

It looks good but the Hotpoint WD865A dryer is rubbish. I have never had dry clothes yet. I would not recommend this dryer.

Try to avoid this machine like the plague. I think all Hotpoint appliances are rubbish, I bought a Hotpoint microwave a few years ago and it continually broke down (never again).
