White Knight 767

After seeing all the scary news reports on the whirlpool driers I decided to investigate my own tumble drier origins and manufacturer. I have owned this particular WK767 drier for at least 10 years now, and it has given us faultless use through out this time. we have emptied the lint filter and water bottle after every use and cleaned the bottom filter at regular intervals.

If this machine were to die a death tomorrow this machine would literally owe me nothing, as at under £200 when I bought it all those years ago it has cost me less than £20 per year.

I won't comment on the overall noise level of the machine as its not in the kitchen and therefore we only hear it when we are in the room where it is located, but I will say that I don't think it's excessively noisy.

I would certainly recommend the white knight range to everyone and if and when it does eventually fail, I would certainly have no hesitation in buying a new product from this manufacturers range.

I bought this drier because I had previously owned a White Knight which gave me about fifteen years service, sometimes drying three loads a day through the winter months. I passed it on to my son who has since passed it on to his younger brother, so in total it has done about twenty years service and in all that time has only needed a new drive belt. The 767 is definitely noisier than the previous model which was vented but it has a large capacity and the water bottle is at the top of the machine, very handy at my age not having to do too much bending. Great value for money I would happily recommend this to anyone who has a utility room or somewhere outside their living space as it is noisy.

I bought White Knight Tumble dryer just over a year ago & its good but the only downside is the plug heats up after 20 mins. I had my eclectrical connections checked which is in good state & the new wiring has been done 3 years ago. I have dish washer, washing machine, a fridge & a freezer but none of their plug heats up so fast. I called whiteknight supplier & they said your appliance has no problem so I am still using till I suppose there is a fire in my house.

Sent the machine back as it was so noisy. I measured the sound level and it was within their spec so clearly not a fault with the machine - more simply a very very noisy design. So bad we couldn't hold a conversation in the same room. In comparison with our older model from another manufacturer, the 767 is 4x as noisy. Not that impressed either with the condenser as you could detect dampness in the air so some water vapour was escaping.

I've had the condenser version of this white knight dryer (797c) for 4 and a half years. In that time, I've had to replace the fluff filter and fix the bottle full warning indicator. I been very pleased with it as it's simple to use and has kept going for several years; I think it is good value at £1 per week to buy. The only downside is that it doesn't always get the clothes completely dry but by just turning it on again, that solves the problem

Unfortunately, it has broken today. The spider that attaches to the drum has cracked due to me overloading it on several occasions. Since it'll cost over £100 to repair, I'm now looking for a new one and White Knight is where I'll start.

The White Knight 767 is quite a good dryer for the money.

The White Knight 767 does what it says on the tin. It's easy to use, easy to maintain and I think it's quiet in operation. I also found it easy to install this tumble dryer. It did stop working once, but did you know there's a reset switch at the back that will reset it? Mine worked fine again after that!

Very loud machine ... good for 15- 18 months service ... if you are going to purchase one of these then take out extended warranty, motors can be problem and pumps as well.

When I purchased it I was initially impressed and very happy for 18 months. Then when the pump failed I was less than impressed for a machine that was only 18 months old. On trying to repair it I found it very difficult to get access to the pump and had to break off the recirculating fan as it was rusted onto the motor shaft. the resultant messing around removing the fan caused me to bend the motor shaft which then induced a vibration once reassembled and definitely led to the recent failure of the motor at which point I decided enough was enough and bought a Zanussi with an extended warranty.

The White Knight tumble dryer worked well for 15 months, albeit noisily. Water container easy to empty - probably the best after reviewing all the other models available 31/7/2004.
