Ctd00p Avoid At All Costs. Poor Build Quality And

Ctd00p avoid at ALL costs. Poor build quality and it has blown the main fuse in the house numerous times. Had the Hotpoint engineer out twice and they say it is US not cleaning it regularly enough. Surely emptying the water every time and cleaning the big boxy filter every week or two is adequate but still water is building up inside near the wires(death trap)and blowing fuses. It will now cost to get fixed because it`s out of warranty.!!!!! ARghhhhh

For Those Who Have The Fuse Blown In The House....

For those who have the fuse blown in the house.....pull out the bottom bit that you have to clear the fluff off with water...(not the fluff gatherer)...now at the very back is there a pool of water? this is whats causing the fuses to blow...about to try and find out why I have a pool of water on my Hotpoint CTD00P!!

I Also Bought A Hotpoint Ctd00p Aquarius And Have

I also bought a Hotpoint CTD00P Aquarius and have had similar problems as above. It lasted around 3 years, first of all the motor went after about 2 years which cost £30 to have fixed by a local repair man, then the other day it started tripping my fuse box and started shooting sparks out the back of it. Repair man said it wasn't worth repairing due to the costs involved. I have been advised to steer clear of HotPoint since they have been taken over and the build quality is now really poor I've found.

I Have This Product That I Bought Aug 07. Got It

I have this product that i bought aug 07. Got it on the bases that i had other hotpoint product that lasted 20yrs. About the time i got this my fuse box started tripping now and again. I didnt think anything of it put it down to a power surge. Now it trips the box as soon a s i put the dryer on. It is obviously a fault in this product. Now i and trying to get my money back. I have seen loads of bad reviews on this item. now i have made a complaint direct to Hotpoint. Which if you have this same item and it does the same thing or worse then you should do the same.

Bought A Hotpoint Ctd00p Just Over A Year Ago And

Bought a Hotpoint CTD00P just over a year ago and has failed just outside the warranty period. Still under parts warranty but £90 call out charge! The drum no longer turns so being a mechanical engineer I thought I could turn my hand to fixing it. Investigated it today and was appalled at the bad build quality of this machine. This machine was clearly not meant to be disassembled once built - flimsy plastic clips secure many of the parts and break off rather than come apart. The side panels are paper thin and warp easily. This dryer was quite obviously built using the cheapest materials possible and given a thin veneer of respectability to make it saleable. Hotpoint will start losing sales if they continue to build products like this. My advice would be to avoid buying this shoddy product if you are in the market for a tumble dryer.

I agree with your comments and will never buy any hotpoint or indesit product again in my life time, i had purchased a tumbler dryer vtd 20g and in two years replaced the drum kit 3 times, the drum rotates on a soft steel shaft approx. length 25mm the diameter is less than a lead pencil. how any decent product design engineer could pass this for any kind of quality he should hang his head in shame. The dryer is so light that if left outside it would blow away. Each drum kit purchased from my local appliance spares centre cost £20 quid I spent some time talking to the parts man and he said they sell a whole lot of these kits, this speaks for itself. Hotpoint know they are building products that will not last and if they think the public is going to support them buying spares and paying them for service work on two year old products they better bring in the receiver as this business model will not work and consumers will purchase elsewhere. It's a new world and the consumer can find all kinds of information about products that are not fit for purpose. The worst of it is dealing with the rhetoric when you get in touch with the manufacturer, its not about what is wrong with the dryer, it's our records don't show your repairs are done by one of our authorized repair centres , wow now they think its a car and you have to take it back to dealer for servicing.

Well I could go on but just wanted to say thanks for your comments as soon as i read your review i had to congragulate you on nailing the nail on the head Thanks Jim

After A Nightmare £400 Top-of-the Range, Sen

After a nightmare £400 top-of-the range, sensor drying, condensing LG that first went wrong within 4 months I decided to go for simple, cheap (£200) and cheerful.

We've used it most days and it's worked fine for 15 months solid. Turned it on this morning and it blew the main house fuse (not just the kitchen ring main). From the other reviews looks like this is a common fault.

Nice wide opening, it's easier to get the quilt cover into than the washing machine.

Condenser drawer feels flimsy and you have to tug to get it to open.

If you want quiet then pay extra and choose a better model. Avoid the sensor dryers, sounds great, no overbaked clothes - I've had two Bosch and an LG and it's the sensor circuitboard that's been the problem on all three and the service engineers never carry the parts.

I Cant Use It It Anymore - Keeps Blowing The House

I cant use it it anymore - keeps blowing the house fuse every time it is used. I called Hotpoint - they wanted ?89 call out. Product still has parts guarantee. The product only cost ?200. Cannot afford to wait 10 days for someone to turn up and charge me ?90 - the wife would keep me. The Tumble Dryer is heading to the skip. Hopefully the next Tumble Dryer I buy which I point out wont be a Hotpoint.
