I Purchased The Hoover Tv630 Just Over A Year Ago
I purchased the Hoover tv630 just over a year ago on ebay after my indesit is60v dryer kept breaking down and I could'nt afford a brand new 6kg capacity dryer. So far its worked brilliantly I have never had to have it on as long as it tells you for a heavy load its pretty fast and the clothes come out soft and smelling of fabric softener unlike the burnt smell I used to get from the indesit one. My only quarms with it is the filter care light sometimes comes on and then the heat stops so you must check it regularly or clean it after every use and also it has a bit of a rotational squeak when you first put it on but once it warms up its reasonably quiet. Was well worth the £30 I won it for and it matches perfect to my hoover six washer aswell.

Tumble Drier Has Served Us Well For 6 Years, With
Tumble drier has served us well for 6 years, with at least one load a day going in. It has only now just started to make a squealing noise when it starts, which I am assuming is the belt starting to slip (the noise stops once it's warm). If this is the case I will quite happily keep it in service until it fails completely.

This Hoover TV630 dryer has worked for us for a couple of years of heavy use - now we are having problems getting it to start, it does not seem to be the door catches.

A Bit Of A Nightmare, The Tv630. Drum Replaced Twi
A bit of a nightmare, the TV630. Drum replaced twice just after we bought it due to screeching noises. Other part, IIRC heater, alschanged (although there was nothing wrong with it - independent engineer took away as scrap a perfectly good item - we suspected fraud) Now it causes the circuit breaker to trip if we use it. Although cheap to buy it's proved a poor value for money purchase. Won't touch Hoover/Candi again.

I Can't Fault It. I Bought The Hoover Tv630 Dryer
I can't fault it. I bought the Hoover TV630 dryer 6 years ago, and it has been in pretty much constant use ever since (4 children, dogs and horses!). I have recently experienced problems with starting it - my son has the 'knack' - but I expect it's just plain worn out. Otherwise my dryer has been reliable and as efficient as expected. Can't grumble.
As a Hoover service engineer this problem is quite an easy fix... Sounds like the relay board which is connected to the on/off..

I Would Never Buy A Hoover / Candy Product Again A
I would never buy a Hoover / Candy product again after the TV630 dryer. this drier is very poor quality, very cheap and nasty and isn't worth the money in scrap if you ask me.
The switch went on ours and then the heater and the drum made the most awfull noise as the bush that the drum sits on is very poor quality and malfunctions easily, changing the drum isn't the answer, you have to change the bush which is a nightmare to get at as you have to strip the machine down and remove the drum to get at it and in doing so most of the plastic parts like the filter housing break etc.

Just Out Of Warranty (12 Months) The Mains Suppres
Just out of warranty (12 months) the mains suppressor capacitor shorted blowing the fuse. I had to bypass it to make the machine usable. (it's only fitted as by law the electrical interference caused by this type of appliance has to be suppressed).Shortly afterwards the door switch failed. The heater then failed.Few weeks ago the machine started making an almighty noise - I knew what it was so waited 'till it died.
The drum back bearing had failed - as it always does in these dreadful machines. This really shouldn't be called a bearing - it's merely a piece of what appears to be brass or phosphor bronze with a hole in it which mates with the spigot at the back of the drum. There was no lubricant of any sort present, so it had been running dry and obviously this hastened it's demise. All that's required here is to remove this brass 'bearing' and turn it thru'180 degrees so that the worn part is at the top and refit the belt and all the other rubbish - couple of hours effing and blinding and the job was done!I did this job this afternoon and was quite pleased with myself thinking the machine 'might' just last another 6 months.Sadly this was not to be as the motor (cheap rubbish from Eastern Europe) failed a couple of hours later.SO it's a trip to the local skip first thing tomorrow - throwing this Hoover away will give me immense satisfaction - though I have to spend good money replacing it.I'm really annoyed as this machine has not worked hard but looking at the general standard of construction it was inevitable that it would give problems.A local Hoover service engineer tells me that Hoover quality has plummeted in the last few years so this will be the last Hoover appliance that I will ever own.
