Hoover HNC175

The shrieking noise reported by various people turns out to be due to a dry bearing. The engineer replaced a very hard to get at unit but that was just as bad.

Best thing is to cut a hole in the left had side and oil the bearing. Works a treat - piy about the hole.

Now a seal has failed on the condenser unit and we are getting copious quantities of water into the room rather than the reservoir.

First purchased this Hoover HNC175 dryer as it has a large drum which I felt would be beneficial. just as the year warranty ran out it began to make a noise when the drum turned a certain way. It now continuously makes the most annoying noise that we only use it when going to bed. Also my electric bill increased sugnificantly. would not reccommend. Do not like condensors, give me a White Knight tumble any day!

Hoover HNC175 is a good machine when new. Only had it two years, now making a straining noise when on dry, not happy.
