The Brother Cs-8060 Could Have Been A Nice Sewing
The Brother CS-8060 could have been a nice sewing machine, once I figured out how to use it, but once I got used to it the machine broke. It only worked for a few projects (less than 20 hrs total sewing time, I'd guess). I tried to fix it myself and was able to solve a major problem that the bobbin winder was having, but in the process I think I messed up the timing or something--now the machine seems to work fine, but doesn't really sew fabric together. I noticed that materials of the machine seem cheap--cracking plastic casing, poorly fitting screws in many places, etc.
So it seems to be kaputt. I got the machine form Overstock.com a couple of years ago, I paid enough for it that it shouldn't have broken down so quickly, or been so cheaply made, but I don't think the warranty will apply by now. I'll have to check with Overstock.com.
