Great Sewing Machine

The AEG 227 is my second sewing machine and what a step up it is from the last one! I have never used an AEG before, but they are now my favourite brand. The machine is easy to thread, the instructions are very clear and it comes with a range of useful accessories.

The machine was extremely easy to set up following the instructions provided, even for a beginner. The instructions also provide advice on how to use the different stitches of which the machine is capable.

Once I started sewing, I found the pedal responsive and easy to use, giving me great control over my sewing speed. The machine also came with an interchangeable zipper-foot that was very easy to install. The whole product is very intuitive and easy to become used to. I have also used it to sew quite thick layers together, which it did with ease.

Being a beginner at sewing, I have not used it for anything too complicated yet, but I have tried some of the other stitches, including the blind hem stitch, which I think will be very useful in my dress-making. There are a large number of different stitches available, as well as an automatic button hole which will come in handy as I grow in experience and take on more complicated projects.

Overall, the machine is lightweight, easy to use, and also quiet when operating; in conclusion a sturdy, well-built machine perfect for a beginner or a more experienced sewer.

Easy To Operate, Value For Money, Fabulous Stitch Tension

The AEG 227 is a lightweight sewing machine that is easy to set up and thread. It's a good machine for anyone who is new to sewing or an occasional user, and is easy to operate. The best thing about this machine is that it creates and maintains even and accurate stitch tension, even through different thicknesses of fabric - great if you're making curtains and mostly using the basic straight and zigzag stitches. The feed teeth grip the fabric well helping to create even lines of stitching. The machine has plenty of decorative stitches too so that you can add creative details to children's clothes. Setting the decorative stitches is easy and the machine responds immediately. There's also a handy buttonhole facility, which is easy enough to use. Overall it's a neat model that I'm happy to recommend.

Perfect Machine For The First Time Or Occassional User.

Have a niece who needs a machine so checked out the AEG 227 LCD for her as the price was good and the make is reliable, and was completely delighted. As a first machine it is great, with a screen that tells you what is going on and what you need to do, saving all that scrabbling around in the instruction book every time you want to change a stitch.

Also very good for those of us who are more experienced and need a machine handy, but don't want to be bogged down with a lot of complicated fiddling. I particularly liked the number of stitches available, which are just enough to be useful but not daunting, and I have always resented paying for things I don't need or ever use.

The stitch quality was brilliant - consistent, predictable, and easy - I could turn the dial and put my foot down with confidence. Got so gung-ho with the ease of use that I switched from cotton to chiffon ,to jersey, to wool, to some horrible old nylon, and finally, to six layers of denim which it handled without even a stutter.

This is a machine that makes getting it right a doddle - from the diagram on the front showing how to thread it and the button on the arm you simply click when winding bobbins, to the screen telling you exactly what stitch width and length you require, it will take the hassle out of sewing for many people.

I was completely impressed by the straight stretch stitch, which was perfect for T-shirt alterations, and I loved the zipper foot which glided over zip teeth comfortably. It is lightweight with a good integral carrying handle, and is balanced nicely.

If you are looking for a good, consistent, reliable machine, that just does the job, then the AEG 227 LCD is the one to go for.

Aeg 227 Mechanical Sewing Machine With Lcd Screen.

I chose this machine for my daughter for its easy to use features and straightforward stitch selection, plus the brand is very reputable; I first heard of the name whilst living on the continent.I wanted a good mechanical machine for my daughter and one that was robust and would last.

I am happy with my choice of the AEG227 and she is delighted. It is well designed and has featuresthat make sewingeasy for a user who doesn't want e.g.lots of additional stitch options ( the 227 has 26 which, I believe to be sufficient for general use). The LCD display is a really usefulguide to the stitch selection and the range of stitches has been carefully considered.

Included is an accessory box with things like a zipper foot and a button hole foot as well as a useful dust cover.
