The Bad Points I Have Listed Are Really Being Pini

The bad points I have listed are really being pinickity and would not prevent me from buying another Miele product, apart from the price of Miele products does appear to be double a standard one, however, if they last double the time it is better in the long run.

I still have this dishwasher 6 years on and touchwood no problems yet. Dishwasher salt lasts about a year , but this may be because we use 3 in 1 tablets. I would definitely have a Miele product again but due to the price would always research well first.

i have bought miele 1220sc dishwasher , un forunatelly , in two years time the machine which dries up dishes out of order , 200 e cost and not in the warranty period which ended few months ago , miele products not as good as before ,moderate quality very expensive parts , i am really sorry , i not paying the double price for a milele product again in the future when the quality is not as top as it used to be , friends of mine have the same bad experience with a new wahing machine and they paid 300 e for the repair.

I found this review helpful because it is comprehensive enough to tell one more than whether she just likes the machine or not.

Having Had Numerous Dishwashers Over The Years, No

Having had numerous dishwashers over the years, none of which managed to wash terribly well, we decided to pay extra and buy the Miele G1220SC. Not so expensive really, as it came with a 5 year maintenance contract for £490 delivered from Redhill Appliances.

The first problem was the flow meter which is attached to the cold water inlet. This is about the size of a packet of cigarettes and tells the machine how much water is being taken on so that salt can be dispensed accurately - the wires run inside the inlet hose. In our case, there wasn't room to accommodate the meter and the water supply had to be moved.

Next problem - the machine needs programming with the hardness of the water supply, and pressing the controls as per the instructions had no effect. Several phone calls to Miele (nice people, ordinary phone line [not an 0870] and no hanging on listening to music) resulted in a call out for an engineer. More 'fiddling' by us demonstrated that the machine could not be programmed whilst a time delay was set - which is was as delivered. Once the delay was cleared everything was fine and the engineer cancelled.

The inside of this machine is different to any of our previous machines. There's a separate pull-out tray for cutlery, and inserting wine glasses is something of an art-form. Glasses with very long stems cannot be accommodated unless you buy Miele's 'basket' for them, which then takes up space where saucepans go. It takes some time to learn to live with this one!

Is it worth it? Yes, very much so. The washing performance is excellent and the day to day controls are easy to use. It even takes account of which type of dishwasher tablet you are using (if not using powder). The delayed start timer enables overnight running on off-peak electricity, and it's relatively quiet in operation. Notably, the 'water softener' mechanism gets it just right all the time, irrespective of salt level etc. Glasses are always just on the edge of 'squeaky clean'. If the claimed 20 year life is true, this machine will be excellent value for money. I would have awarded 10/10 but for the long-stemmed glasses issue.

We have had this model for 6 years now and it's been brilliant - except when we use the quick wash programme, it now takes only 27 minutes ( and seems to be reducing at a regular rate) when it originally took 45 minutes. Cleaning results are now being affected.

I found this review helpful because lots of detail and to give it a positive recommendation after the trials he outlines says a lot about the machine's performance.

I found this review helpful because I haven't seen the unit being reviewed and the long stem wine glasses would be a problem for me too.
