Indesit DVG 622 K IX Built-in Dishwasher

We have had this dishwasher less than 5 years with infrequent usage over that time period. During that time, we have not found it to be the best at washing dishes which could be seen as a major design flaw! Porridge and other such food gets stuck to it and needs washing after the dishwasher has been on.

the handle is also flimsy and is cracked and breaking. Probably soon to break off.

However, these are minor compared to the fact that it started smoking last night when it was on. Luckily we were stood next to it at the time (not a usual occurrence) and were able to switch it off straight away. No idea why it started smoking but very concerned that it could have started a fire had we not been there to act immediately.

Would not recommend this dishwasher to anyone.

Avoid this dish washer! We're stuck with it, as it was chosen by our landlord, but what a complete waste of time and money.

The design is inappropriate for a modern household, with lots of wasted space and inability to handle oddly-shaped dishes (i.e. wine glasses). The cutlery basket breaks easily and spoons, knives etc fall through the plastic mesh. Even when using recommended soap, the holder door releases less often than not. Using appropriate rinse and salt doesn't prevent spots from appearing on dishes. Usually a load needs to go through 2 or three times to come clean.

Stay away!!!

The dishwasher washes ok. The problem I have had with this machine is the design of the door handle. It has completely snapped off. Surely a design fault! It is very flimsey. Replacement part and cost of engineer to repair ridiculous. Also the cutlery tray has several holes in it. These parts should last a lot longer. Only had the dishwasher two years.

Would not recommend this particular model.
