Serious Fire Hazard
My Hotpoint FDL570 dishwasher caught fire last Friday 4th March.
Luckily I was in the house when the fire started and I was able to switch the machine off before any damage was done to my kitchen.
Hotpoint seem completely dis-interested in investigating this serious issue and I've just been told that they cant send anyone out to look at the machine until 16th March - simply not good enough Hotpoint.
I just hope that they make a serious effort to contact other FDL570 owners before someone gets seriously injured or, god forbid, killed by these machines catching fire.

Fire Hazard!
It was noisy, then decided to catch on fire at 4am. Luckily we are all OK but the house stinks now and the mind is is playing tricks as it is 'what could have been' if the smoke alarm was also a Hotpoint product and didn't work very well. Never buy Hotpoint again.
I completely agree. My Hotpoint FDL570 caught fire last Friday (4th March) and luckily I was in the house when it went up and managed to switch it off before any serious damage was done to the kitchen. Despite Hotpoint customer services re-assuring me that they consider this an "emergency case" they don't seem to be able to send anyone out until 16th March! It appears that they simply don't care about the safety of their customers. I shall NEVER buy another Hotpoint product ever again.
Fdl570 Set On Fire
I have recently become aware that at least nine of these machines have set on fire to the extent that the Fire Service has had to attend. If anyone has had a problem like this would you please contact me [email protected]
I am hoping Hotpoint don't have another problem similar to recent recalls of other machines
Firstly may I say I am so glad no one was injured, it will only be a matter of time before someone is... I am currently raising media interest in the latest batch of faulty dishwashers. I am now aware of 16 FDL570 dishwashers that have set on fire. If they were interested would you be willing to help? please contact me.
Mine did too! Luckily I was able to put it out as I had a small extinguisher at home. Lucky escape.

Glass Streks And Poor Warranty
I bought a Hotpoint dishwasher just over three years ago after reading some pretty good reviews mostly based on the value for money aspect, which I can't really argue about. My machine has been fine up until recently, washes pretty good, leaves some white streaks on glasses as long as you clean the filters every month or so.
Recently though I got the flashing lights on the front door which indicates that the flood sensor is activated and stops the machine. You need to tip it over to empty the water out, but what is the point as its just going to leak again. After much investigation I found that my machine has two pin holes in the steel tub near the sump were the water is pumped out. I contacted Hotpoint to ask what could be done since it was outside warranty and was very surprised to hear that this could not be fixed as it was not a replaceable item and so there was nothing they could or would do.
I don't normally write reviews but people are better knowing that they could possibly have an issue with Hotpoint machines as I suspect the steel used is similar across the range. There is a lot of truth in the saying "you get what you pay for" and so I got a dishwasher that lasted 3 years.

Avoid.
This model didn't seem to clean glasses right from the start. Have spoken to another owner of the model who says he has experienced the same problems which now include waterlogging (plumbing is correct) and will only clean the bottom rack efficiently, and then, only when on a 65degree wash. Has never been a really effective dishwasher and laterly (2-3 years old), is totally non-operational in that all dishes come out unclean.

I Have Owned 2 Of These Dishwashers And On Both Oc
I have owned 2 of these dishwashers and on both occassions the water pump has failured after 5 months. We had an engineer out to replace the pump but the dishwasher totally failed. Apparently this is a common fault so i would stay well clear of the product and would not recommend anyone to purchase one

The Only Gripes I Have With This Appliance Is That
THE ONLY GRIPES I HAVE WITH THIS APPLIANCE IS THAT THE DOOR IS QUITE STICKY,IT CLEANS EXCEPTIONALLY WELL AND IS VERY QUIET! VERY STYLISH AND FAR SUPERIOR TO MY PREVIOUS INTERGRATED ONE. ALSO IT GETS MORE POTS IN. IT HAS A SALT AND RINSE AID INDICATOR LIGHT WHICH IS GREAT AS I THINK THATS HOW I BLEW MY OLD MOTOR BY NOT KEEPING EYE ON SALT.IT LOOKS LOVELY AND WOULD DEFINATELY RECOMMEND

Superbly Quiet, You Can Hardly Tell It's On Someti
superbly quiet, you can hardly tell it's on sometimes. The delay setting is very useful tool aswell. The only downside to the machine is that the dishes are still damp at the end of the wash, it appears that the heater fails to dry the dishes at the end of the wash cycle.
I would reccommend this machine anyway.

I Have Owned A Hotpoint Fdl 570p Dishwasher For 8
I have owned a Hotpoint FDL 570P dishwasher for 8 months. It cleans adequately but the noise it gives off is LOUD and too unpleasant to stay in the kitchen with when it is operating. 4 calls to the "help line" have resulted in two visits by a Technician /engineer (he couldn't make up his mind what he was). The only test for noise was by connecting a lap top diagnostic tester to the machine which told him everything "should be OK now" It isn't and I am now trying to get the M/c replaced by writing to head office. No doubt this will again be referred to the main customer services operative. I will not rest til Hotpoint/Indesit sort this out. I have/had many Hotpoint appliances but the latest batch seem not to be up to spec.
