The Bci450 'slimline' Dishwasher Was Part Of A New
The BCI450 'Slimline' dishwasher was part of a new Kitchen we had installed Feb 2006 along with 5 other Hotpoint appliances, taking advantage of the '5year' free parts guarantee offered at the time. Initially we were very happy with it.Now we are disappointed with our first dishwasher, on its reliability as it is now faulty after what I would say was only moderate use. 3-4 times a week. While in another room we became aware of a smell of 'burning' during a washing cycle followed by a 'bang' while on our way to investigate. The appliance had stopped 'mid' cycle, so I isolated it by pulling out its 13amp plug. The fuse had not blown but the 32amp circuit breaker feeding the kitchen ring main circuit had tripped out. This reset OK.We reported it to Hotpoint & their engineer is visiting us today...cost is a gnats whisker short of £100.00......Will post the result of what he finds later...........
What was the bang and smell? Think we may have just had the same on the inlaws' dishwasher which is used, on average, once a year! Any tips welcome. It's built in, so hard to find plugs etc.
