Bosch SGS8812GB/35

I have a Bosch SGS8812GB/35 dishwasher. I admit, we have had it for a while, but it has had very light use. I have had an engineer out as it is not working. The heater has a fault, which has blown possibly 2 other items in the dishwasher, causing it not to work. I can have a new heater put in, but cannot guarantee it will work, as when the heater blows it usually causes other failures. Advised just to buy a new machine as it will be cheaper. The engineer also told me this was the 5th Bosch dishwasher he had been out to within a month that had this problem.

I rang Bosch and they will not tell me if it is an ongoing problem with their dishwashers, but I was advised that someone could come round who may be able to tell me. He would charge £59.50 to come out, and then £4.00 for every 6 minutes. Wow!

We have had our Bosch dishwasher for 6 years, and have paid to have 3 control units replaced. Each time, the repairman, who is excellent and very knowledgeble, assures us that there is nothing wrong with the installation, or the way we use the machine. It has now failed again, and I am not paying for another $300 control panel!! We are replacing the dishwasher! I have contacted Bosch directly, and I was told that these things happen, therefore, no satisfaction. I will never buy anything else from Bosch.
