Aeg 8081

Although the 8081 is no longer produced, it is a fantastic dishwasher I have had mine from new and it is 15 years old this year. It is quiet, has a selection of cycles to suit all occasions. The work I have had done on it over the years has been a new type hose, and the drying fan replaced. Some parts are now unobtainable. But I hope to keep it as long as I can trying for 25 years. Lovely peace of kitchen machinery.

Our Conclusion Is That Aeg Products Are A Cheap In

Our conclusion is that AEG products are a cheap inferior product with poor workmanship with a very expensive price tag. We have learnt our lesson we would never touch another AEG product.

We would never again touch AEG.

The Aeg Favorit 8081-1m Has Been The Most Expensiv

The AEG Favorit 8081-1M has been the most expensive domestic appliance we ever bought, many advanced features but bitterly disappointed with the service, AEG attitude and the cost of repairs. Enclosed tubular heaters are supposedly more reliable but we have had five go in seven years, plus other faults. As unreliable as the cheapest brands we owned in 30 years.

We've Had The Aeg Favorit 8081-1m For 5 Years Sinc

We've had the AEG Favorit 8081-1M for 5 years since 11/99. It stopped the other day and we called the local service agent as AEG no longer have factory service personnel in Australia as they did when we purchased it. Five days later the serviceman calls and informs us that the parts will be VERY expensive and he'll order them. We pay him $110 AUD for the call. Fortunately I checked the price of the main control module with AEG when he left and was quoted $470 plus tax. When I rang the agent later before they came to install the parts I was quoted $1019 plus tax!! This included a drying fan at $391 plus tax. It seems the service agent loads the factory recommended retail by 50%. Contacted AEG who agreed to reduce the price as an ex-gratia deal to a total of 382 plus tax. (A lot cheaper than $1019). The servixceman calls and only fits the main module, we pay him a further $324.50 and he leaves. The machine breaks down again for exactly the same reason.

The machine is still not working three and a half weeks later as the parts have been coming from the AEG centre for the last one and a half weeks.

I will be writing to all sorts of people when this is finished, and I will not recommend AEG to anyone. Thank goodness we are selling the house (and all fixtures go with it in Australia).
