Disappointing
Good looking fridge but it has an overflow function which constantly leaked if any item touched the rear of the fridge internally. Even the slightest touch set if off leaking all over the floor

Keeps Freezing Inside And Back
I have had this fridge for 16months and it has gave me nothing but hassle, it keeps freezing up and the contents even When turning it down to the lowest I have a digital temp reader in the fridge at all times and just goes to -2 most of the time turn it up slighty and it will go to 7 or over never a happy temp with this fridge I have to keep turning it off to defrost the pipes at the back! At £180 I expected more only thing good about this fridge is it's quite big and stylish

Some Poor Features.
The salad drawer can only be pulled out by reaching right to the bottom of the fridge, on last model indent at top of drawer to pull out. Difficult to use if tall or elderly.
Operation produces high pitched whine although not noisy it is irritating.
Blue 'brush' to hold bottles worse than useless it falls off at slightest touch.

Reliability Means 3 Year's Life!!
Bought it in 2009, and 3 years later the compressor has failed (diagnosed by an independent refrigeration engineer). Even if the replacement compressor was provided free, the cost of draining the coolant, replacing the compressor and recharging the system would exceed the cost of a new fridge!
I can only conclude that this is the way Hotpoint can sustain a good income: either by getting the customer to pay for an extended 5 year cover (not cheap) or by designing their goods to fail.
I shall never buy a Hotpoint (or Indesit) again.
Yes I agree. I have had 2 of these (second replacement for first). Both lasted between 3-4 years. Just not good enough! Items need to last a lot longer so as to avoid landfill and polluting the planet. Told Hotpoint I wasn't happy bit they weren't interested. Won't use Hotpoint again.
