Thinking Of A Cheaper Appliance?

Usually pay for the alleged best, but decided to try something cheaper partly because of Which? reports on the brand. Not as quiet as our old Bosch but the exterior finish does not dissapoint. Interior is not quite as good in a few detail respects, but considering the price difference it would be churlish to criticise. If it gave a general impression of cheapness I would have been very unhappy. We have only had it six months, but if it proves reliable will be well satisfied.

I have saved a fortune since I stopped subscribing to Which? After many disappointments with their best buys (Sony dvd recorder, Sony tv, Sony digital radio, amongst many others) I now do my research on the internet combined with looking at quality brands (eg Miele, Panasonic etc). The trouble is that Which cannot test for longevity, so their guesses are no better than yours, despite the superficial "scientific" appearance of their test regime. Recently they tested batteries and gave the best buy to Lidl's own brand. Anybody with any sense knows that Duracell outperforms these batteries, and are far less likely to leak. So another daft Which? finding that goes against all experience. Giving Beko a Best Buy rating when there has been a huge scandal over fire risks and every technician knows how unreliable their products are... words fail me. Google Beko and fire risk if you don't believe me.

Ok But Not Perfect By A Long Way ( Just Being Fair Here )

We have a limited width in our kitchen so not much on the market for 550mm wide and looking at them all this was the best one on paper.

Price not too bad and over all decent size and lots of shelf space, the wife is happy..working all ok.

Down side, there's normaly a down side.

Doors could do with opening just that bit more wider..

VERY POOR Problem

is the freezer draws, they fall off their sliders. When the draw is full of frozen food it's a bit of a pain to refit them back. It's abit like abit of Poor MFi flat pack furniture that is just not been made very well and that's the point with this. The draws are so sloppy they clearly either have parts missing or they were made just too narrow. There must be at least 1.5cm per SIDE of space between the draw the side of the fridge ( where the runners are moulded to ) . I am not sure if BEKO are aware of this and following this review I am going to write to them and see what they say..

Other than that it does the job I would like it to last for say 6-8 years at the very least. Time will tell but on the strength of the fridge freezer being ok ) 4 months ) I just bought a BEKO washing machine.

I completely agree with this. The drawers in the freezer part of my Beko are an absolute pain.

I don't think the fridge will last much longer because the runners which are moulded to the fridge are getting damaged at the front from trying to put the drawers back in.

I would never recommend this fridge to anyone.

And the fridge is useless for storage because of the water dispenser.

I really hate this fridge

My Fidge Freezer (cda543) Has Packed Up After Abou

My fidge freezer (CDA543) has packed up after about 18mths. Ridiculous. Waste of money.

These appliances should last alot longer than this. I could buy anew compressor for it, but why should I??

I'll stay with the better brands in future!!

I Had Never Bought Any Beko Product Before And Did

I had never bought any Beko Product before and did a lot of reading before I plumped for the Beko CDA543FW Fridge/Freezer. There were some scare stories about them, not least on this website, but reading elsewhere I got the impression that Beko had turned the corner and had now improved its reliability considerably.

Many people cause themselves problems with Fridge/Freezers by turning them on straight away after moving them, which is definitely not recommended. We had to move ours to put down new flooring and then on putting it back left it switched off overnight before turning it on again.

This Fridge Freezer is quiet, economical, and works well in cold rooms, (our is in our utility room which is the coldest room in our house). It will work okay down to -15c. It is our first frost-free Fridge/Freezer and having experienced the benefits of this will never again buy a standard on.

I would have preferred a slightly bigger freezer and smaller fridge compartment but there are manufacturers dont seem to make them with small fridge and big freezer sections any more. I overcame this problem by also buying my first ever chest freezer for our garage. This is now full and has saved us so much money through buying cheap things in bulk and freezing them.

The Beko Cda543fw Is The Worst Appliance That I Ha

The Beko CDA543FW is the worst appliance that I have ever owned. I bought it as it fitted the narrow space in my kitchen and seemed to have a good number of shelves/drawers. Unfortunately as it approached its first birthday the fridge stopped working and the engineer came out. He stated that it needed a new compressor. In fact it had 3 new compressors and two of those needed regassing. The engineer stated that the compressors were not efficient enough but we would never get a replacement out of Beko.

Since then the fridge freezes at the back or is way above safe temperature and the freezer defrosts especially at the bottom. Although it is supposedly frost free the back of the freezer is constantly blocked with ice.

I have tried phoning and e mailing Beko but they are not interested in helping - only giving me an engineers phone number! Surely it is not too much to ask that an appliance should work for longer than a year..Do not buy this appliance it is not fit for purpose. I would never buy Beko again.

I Had My F/freezer For 18 Months, Then The Fridge

I had my f/freezer for 18 months, then the fridge compartment iced up on the back wall and wouldn't defrost, looked into the freezer compartment and the lower part on the back was iced up, I called an engineer and he told me it was a system blockage and that the f/freezer was unserviceable. My advice stay well away. And if I could have given zero star ratings thats what it would have had.

I Bought The Cda543fw Due To Good Reviews In A Con

I bought the CDA543FW due to good reviews in a consumer magazine. In the first couple of months there as a terrible smell coming from it, at 12mths the fridge was constantly warm, the freezer wouldn't freeze and the fan was constantly going accompanoed by the sound of running water. I don't know how I avoided food poisoning. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone as all I have now is an expensive cupboard with a light in it.

Well Where Do I Start, We Bought This Item From Ou

Well where do i start, we bought this item from our Choice catalogue last November and in 6 months it it was faulty 3 times and was repaired 3 times and cost us 3 lots food, one was covered by our insurance but the others times were not.

It was eventually replaced after lots of phone calls and stress and guess what after a two months it has gone again , the compressor has broken and the gas has leaked, i have called both Choice and Beko on the matter and Beko say that the warranty is just to repair.

My question to them, now as this is still ongoing with no resolve is.... How many times will it have it be repaired and how much food will be wasted untill my warranty does infact run out, and then they have won becouse this item has now cost me and my wife more in wasted food than what we paid for it.

Frankly im disgusted that nothing can be done to stop this from happening, Beko you are a ripping your customers off, you know theres a problem with your compressor that you fit when manufactered and so do the agents that come and repair.

All in all i would warn anybody never to buy a fridge/freezer from them unless you want to waste a lot of food and gain a stressfull life....
