In late 2013 Hoover Limited aquired the assets of Baumatic Limited in and around the same time Baumatic ended production of the appliance.

Hoover are unable to guarantee that parts would always be available and are unable to accept liability for parts which have become obsolete as a result of the appliance no longer being manufactured by Baumatic

Consequence is that the whole unit has to be scrapped!!!

Can't comment on Service/Support - not required this yet. I had terrible problems installing the fridge/freezer. I only needed to do 2 tasks

1. change the handing of the door from left to right (which both the fridge and freezer enable). However, the screws must have been tightened up by Heman in the factory and it was a masssive struggle undoing them whilst trying not to ruin the screw head (am no Heman, but strong-ish). Screwing the screws into the other side also required herculian strength, as Baumatic had not bothered pre-drilling the holes, so i ended up forcing them with a power drill (NB. instructions state you'll need screwdriver only!).

2. Fix our existing cupboard doors to the new fridge/freezer doors. Same problem, had to force the screws in with the power drill. Drill also slipped puncturing the rubber seal round the door. Also all the screws provided have very thin heads, so you easily mess up the screw head, so I ended up using my own screws.

The product itself is fine, everything works as it should. The fridge is slighly louder than our previous Hotpoint model, but even so its a very quiet background humming.

Overall am pleased with the purchase - though do shop around with Google Shopping as prices differed massively, however if you can pay a little extra for someone else to install I would recommend to save you losing your temper like me!

Our Baumatic BR27B malfunctioned on 1st day. Baumatic aftersales dept. were poor. They seem incapable of organising an engineer to come and look at the appliance. Avoid like the plague.

All round good item. The Baumatic BR27B is a must have reasonably priced appliance.

Last 2 months and Baumatics service deptartment take 5 day to get a Engineer and over 2 weeks later we still have no fridge freezer. Don't recommend buying Baumatic.
