Got to be worst fridge freezer made poor construction noisy fan motor always icing up never purchase another Hoover appliance

i eventually got so pee'd with the noise i ripped the freezers back apart. frost free exchanger? nooooo it was solid block of ice!!!

i spun the small cold air circulation fan and discovered that the bearing in the fans motor has a small clunky flat spot........yeah you've guessed it, its the source of the noise.

at least now i know whats driving me mad. as for sourcing a spare. forget it. new fridge freezer on the wish list but it won't be badged HOOVER

I totally agree with the person who wrote the review on this suppoedly frost free Hoover HCF5176A fridge freezer.

I also had problems with ice forming in the fridge, I have had to throw loads of salad produce away and it also freezes other items in the fridge. I have tried every setting available still the same. I have had the thermostat changed twice. I still have the problem. The place I bought it from agreed to replace it thank god.

We bought this fridge freezer and within one week the supposed "Frost Free" freezer had covered all of our food packages in a deep crust of ice.

The freezer would fill up with so much ice that the fan at the back would chop into it making a very loud whirring noise, usually waking us up in the middle of the night.

We had 3 engineers come out to review the situation (having to take days off work for this as they wouldn't come out on a weekend) and all said "well, it shouldn't be doing that" and offered no real solution.

After fighting with Hoover to get it taken away the guys picking it up said "oh, another one of these" as they have been picking up LOADS of them, even saying they can deliver one on a Friday and then be picking it up on the Monday!

There is obviously a fault with this model but maybe Hoover don't want to admit it?

Avoid at all costs!
