Fantastic

I tossed up between this one and the Breville big scoop.. The breville certainly was nicer looking but some reviews I read about it were a little off putting.. The Baumatic was also a lot cheaper. $240 compared to $370 and since I was going to keep it in the cupboard due to its size the price certainly outweighed the looks.. I've made at least 10 batches so far, every single one a hit and the machine did it with ease and much faster than I thought .. Most taking only 20 - 30 minutes... Very happy with my purchase ..

This Baumatic Bic1ch Makes The Most Awesome Ice Cr

This Baumatic BIC1CH makes the most awesome ice cream. I am not sure what the person above it talking about this machine is chrome. Maybe she put too much of the naughty stuff in the ice cream and started to see plastic.

I Bought This Baumatic Bic1ch 1.54 Quart Ice Cream

I bought this Baumatic BIC1CH 1.54 Quart Ice Cream Maker yesterday, from Trade Appliances, who took 3 weeks to deliver it. So I was really looking forward to it arriving. I thought it was chrome or brushed stainless, depending on whose description you read. But it wasn't it is PLASTIC with a silver coating. I did not notice this at first, as I did not expect it, so I left it on the side for 12 hours and read the book and recipes and bought the necessary ingredients. Then I used it and when I took the ice cream out noticed that the entire top of the machine. On the side where the fridge motors meet the top of the ice cream tub, ie: where cold and hot meet, was scored with huge, deep cosmetic fracture lines up and away from the tub. My husband, who is a design engineer, looked at it and said that it is painted plastic, not chrome or stainless, and that the heat/cold in that area is going to cause the same problem again even if i send it back and get a new one, because it is a stress point. It was starting to happen around the controls as well, due to heating and cooling and stress points. I bought this because it is beautiful, but wish I hadn't. I would avoid this like the plague. I thought I was paying twice the price of other similar ice cream makers because it was stainless or chrome, not plastic. I feel like throwing it in the bin.
