The Jl Egg Boiler Has A Stainless Steel Top And Bl

The JL Egg Boiler has a stainless steel top and black casing housing the heating element. The heating plate is non-stick. The boiler takes up to seven eggs. It also has a poaching tray which takes up to three eggs and a volumetric measure and egg pricker. There is no timer and the precise time required to cook your egg/s is achieved by dosing the appropriate amount of water in to the heating tray. When the water has boiled away the thermostat will switch off the heating plate and a bleeper will sound. Water residues do accumulate on the interior heating reservoir but these are easily wiped away when cool and a monthly clean with warm vinegar water will clean any stubborn residues. Because the cooking does not rely on a timer it is necessary to standardise the water amount to produce a cook time consistent with the hardness or softness of egg that you require. I achieved this in about 4 or 5 goes and the boiler now gives very consistent results with the amount of water that I need. Obviously, if you use an extra large egg versus a small or medium egg the results will be different. I just adjust the amount of water up or down by a couple of millilitres. I always weigh out my water on a set of digital kitchen scales as this produces the most accurate water amount. It takes about 8-9 minutes to complete its cook cycle. I like the machine although I am not a lover of stainless steel in the kitchen. It sits on the worktop and is ready to go in a couple of minutes. Cost was £19.50 online, incl free delivery. The box came with a store price ticket of £20. Value for money? - you can find them much cheaper but I was attracted by a three year JL guarantee and I believe that means they have confidence in their product.
