Bionaire Bap825rc I Have Two Of Th
Bionaire
BAP825RC
I have two of these units and they are fantastic barring a couple of points I will mention shortly.
The units have remote controls powered by two AAA batteries.
There are 3 speed settings, rotate setting and ionizer on/off.
The filter light comes on if they need to be replaced (two filters per unit). I prefer to carefully wash the filter (I dont think your supposed to but can save a fortune), allthough I have never waited long enough for the filter light to come on between cleans.
The ability for cleaning smoke out of the air is awsome, a air is fresh in minutes even after smoking up the place all day.
The only drawbacks and reasons I am looking for a different filter now are firstly the noise (quiet when bought but fans soon rattle on all settings) and secondly the power consumption, on the lowest setting it uses 50watts according to the stamp which is a little much to leave unit on permanently as I want to.
In conclusion, an excellent unit to clean the smoke out of the air periodically but quite high power useage to be left on allways.
Quiet running is very quickly ruined by rattling fan which cannot be self adjusted or repaired due to tamper proof screws. So worth buying for a smoker to clear the air periodically via wireless remote control if you can tolerate a slight rattle for a few mins.
Sounds as if you have bought a defective one. (rattling)
Also seems to be expensive to run. I think I would rather go for a different make.
