I Bought One Of These Just Before Christmas.

I bought one of these just before Christmas.

1) The spec says the quick boil makes 235ml - but on mine, after a month or so of use, it just got above 200ml on the first cup... and on subsequent cups dropped to 170, 160 etc ml. This made it pointless for repeat usage. We bought it partly for the eco-friendliness of always boiling just enough water.

Without a slider or something to regulate the volume of water (as some other products of this type have) you're stuck filling extra mugs and dishing water out into the unfilled ones.

2) Mine too leaked. This cause the kettle side to go into continuous boiling without stopping itself... and eventually to short-circuit the fuse box.

I have to say too, that Russell Hobbs email service was less than good about the whole issue. Thankfully my retailer was a lot better and exchanged the kettle without issue.

I won't be buying another Russell Hobbs appliance - partly because of the product issues with this one... but also because of the way their customer service handled it.

After Having Owned Both The Tefal Quick Cup And Qu

After having owned both the Tefal Quick Cup and Quick Cup Deluxe with not much success,I have now gone for the Russell Hobbs Quick2Boil.I purchased the 1st one just under 2 weeks ago,and it is a very nice looking piece of kit, elegant almost,a quick boil dispenser and a sleek looking kettle all in one,far better looking that either of the Tefal models I had previously.Unfortunately, although it boils a cup of water in approximately 15 seconds from cold, and a superb 5 seconds if the kettle has been used recently,I had a flooded worktop every time it was used,so the 1st one has been taken back, and I am now on my 2nd Quick2Boil,although only a few days old now,my worktops are free of water at the minute, and I have got boiling water at the press of a button. My scores reflect my current opinion,ie 2 of these in under a fortnight, but if this one stays leak free,I would recommend this model to anyone,as long as you don't mind the £75 price tag.
