Our First One Failed Because It Ceased Heating. A
Our first one failed because it ceased heating. A second one leaks at the water level window, which cracked allover - crackleware.
Krups warranty is too short for this item which should last for years.
MADE IN CHINA may explain much of the problem for this German firm which is loosing its reputation with poor materials and craftsmanship

This Kettle Is A Safety Hazard. The Water Level In
This kettle is a safety hazard. The water level indicator shattered whilst it was boiling and the water ran off the kitchen worktop and burned my little nephew. The plastic that the water level indicator is made of has just crumbled and I don't know how it's passed safety tests. For this to happen after just two years of probably less than average use is appalling. I would steer clear of this one if you want to avoid an accident.

Loved This Kettle And Had It For A Year And A Half
Loved this kettle and had it for a year and a half, but over time the plastic window on one side of the kettle began to leak and then shattered. The other side seems to be fine....maybe this is just a fault with this kettle?
As it is now out of its guarantee period not sure there is a lot you can do with it. Everything else works fine.
Not sure would buy again, expected it to last more than year and a half!
I found this review very helpful because...the exact same thing has happened to my Krups FLF39W but as the water level indicator shattered whilst it was boiling, the water ran off worktop and burnt my lttle nephew playing on the kitchen floor. I think this kettle is a safety hazard and should be taken off the market. I'll be reporting to my local trading standards tomorrow. Extremely disappointing as I expected quality for the £49.99 price I paid and definately expected it to be safety tested. The plastic used in the water level indicator has literally crumbled!

Very Very Disappointed As Had Wanted A Krups Flf39
Very very disappointed as had wanted a Krups FLF39W ever since I bought one as a gift in Hong Kong. The on/off switch switched off after 2 or 3 seconds. Persevered and it worked. Next time same process happened all over again. After 24 hours of sometimes working properly sometimes randomly switching off after a few seconds decided to return kettle because watching it to make sure it actually boils negates whole point of buying automatic kettle. The (good) one I bought in HK was, I am pretty certain, manufactured in Germany (I will check when I go back). This one felt nice and solid - a substantial well made product and boiled really really fast. Not too noisy. Automatically switched off without filling kitchen with steam because of special construction of lockable lid which includes a tongue-like shutter over the spout. First class kettle and good to look at too.
The (faulty) one I bought in UK - Made in China! It feels flimsy and does not work! Shame.

My Krups Flf39w Is A Good Quick Kettle, Which Look
My Krups FLF39W is a good quick kettle, which looks amazing and like it costs a lot of money. Always wanted one of these and Krups are one of the better brands out there - Forgot Morphy Richards and Braun!
