After Sales Service Is Appalling. Kettle Was

After sales service is appalling.

Kettle was just over a year old and a small plastic component (switch operator) fails, being weak due to bad design.

One sends letter requesting purchase of same, but Haden do not answer.

Following chasing a reply, they advise they will not supply small part (probable cost about 50p) to effect repair.

Intead customer must send kettle to them for inspection and repair.

Cost of sending and them repairing then exceeds cost of a new kettle.

Never again will I purchase a Haden device.

Fed Up With My Expensive Breville Quartz (see My R

Fed up with my expensive Breville Quartz (see my review) I popped into my local branch of Powerhouse (sale on) and bought a simple white plastic cordless jug kettle, with comfy grip handle. The lid is released via a trigger under the handle and stays flipped open for easy filling. So you can fill it one-handed. Clear viewing window left and right hand side. The kettle sits firmly on the base and boils very quickly and quietly. The handle does not get hot and is rubberised for comfort and grip. It cost £9.99 and it's absolutely brilliant.

Warning, today this kettle caught fire. So I am rescinding my recommendation. It was bought Jan 2005 and April 2005 kapput. Upon ringing powerhouse, the manager told me the staff kettle also caught fire (the same model). Looks like a fault.

Have now got a Schnieder kettle, lets keep fingers crossed.
