Looks Nice But Useless
Want a kettle that looks cool in your kitchen? Or want one that actually works and doesn't fall to pieces, leak everywhere and risks burning you?
Like other reviwers, I bought both the Metropolis 4 slice toaster and the kettle, entirely because I liked the cream colour and the matte finish. The kettle lasted just three months before having to be replaced by the retailer when the lid broke. This happened on two more occasions and I have had three kettles in 15 months. In addition the kettle leaked badly and had a nasty habit of sloshing everywhere mid-pour. The paint finish wore badly around the lid. As for the toaster, the mechanism holding down the toast failed on the slots on the right hand side.
When the third kettle failed, the retailer declined to replace it, as it only replaces faulty products within the first 12 months after the initial purchase. On the bright side, at least i won't be stuck with this completely useless brand any more.
To anyone who's been even remotely seduced by the good looks of a DeLonghi Metropolis kettle or toaster, I have one word of advice. Don't.

The Delonghi Kbr3015 Cordless Kettle Looks Nice, S
The DeLonghi KBR3015 Cordless Kettle looks nice, shame about the rest. After only a month the switch started playing up and took a great deal of fiddling with to keep it in the on position. I struggled with it for about a year before it gave up completely and forced me to buy a new kettle. Also very noisy. Worst kettle I have ever had..

Looks nice, shame about the rest. After only a month the switch started playing up and took a great deal of fiddling with to keep it in the on position. I struggled with it for about a year before it gave up completely and forced me to buy a new (not Delonghi!) kettle. Also very noisy. Worst kettle I have ever had..

Perhaps What Can Be Regarded As Amusing Is The Way
Perhaps what can be regarded as amusing is the way this DeLonghi KBR3015 Cordless Kettle begins to shake as it comes up to boiling. Rather like something from a cartoon! More seriously, the minimum stated capacity is 1 litre. A bit too much when you only need a cupful. Also extremely noisy, makes it impossible to hold a conversation whilst waiting for it to boil. And watch out for the handle, it can be slippy.
