Delonghi Magnifica 4200

Broke down just before warranty expired.

Couldn't find receipt in time.

Customer service were a waste of time.

You don't expect a machine this price to last just 2 years.

Was regularly de-scaled and cleaned.

Would never by anything Delonghi or Kenwood again.

Compact, Reliable Technology. I don't think so!

We bought this to replace a wheezing steaming spitting Krups machine.

I liked the idea of bean-to-cup as we just don't do "instant" coffee.

Good points:

Fast time to 1st cup

One-button coffee

Turn on/off steam (are you reading this Krups?)

Great coffee

Great price for what it does

Fast time to steam generation

(I read somewhere that it took a lot of time to cool after this, but just turn the knob after deselecting steam to cool the block)

Bad points:

Grinds don't always make it to the bin. They are getting dumped into the bottom tray which requires more frequent cleaning

worthless piece of metal broke twice in a year. Customer service was so bad that I ended up asking for my money back after a year. Stay away from DeLonghi!

After a year they wanted me to accept a replacement with no warranty!! What load of c r a p! DeLonghi is the worst brand with worst customer service! Period

I cant recommend this delonghi magnifica esam 4200 automatic coffee machine enough, used to have a kenwood retro that was ok but messy to use and broke after around 1/1/2 years.

I got a great deal from www.bestcoffeemachine.co.uk it cost a lot less than i could find it anywhere else.

its smaller than it looked on the net, considering it grinds the beans, tamps them and stores the spent puck inside its amazing.

it looks good and is thoughtfully designed, you can raise or lower the spout and it easily fits a large mug under.

Its a double boiler (one for the steam and one for coffee) heats up quickly.

Easy to adjust cup size and strength , easy to clean, overall an excellent buy
