I like the appearence ,the easy cleaning aspect, thesafety features of the baumatic b24 induction hob,but I have found one drawback when using my induction hob.I cannot 'deep fry'satisfactorally.Shallow frying is o.k.but heating a greater amount of oil to a high enough temperature for long enough to cook e.g. chips, has so far been unsuccessful.I have sought advice from Candy, the manufacturer of my hob,and have followed their instructions to the letter, but after many attempts,I still cannot produce an edible result.
I found this review helpful because I'm just considering buying one. Thanks

I Bought This Appliance Two Years Ago Thinking It
I bought this appliance two years ago thinking it would be a safe buy. When it works it is fine. If and when it fails, be concerned.
Any misconceptions you might have about being covered by the 5 year free parts replacement warranty will become clear when you approach Baumatic service centre.
There is a clause in the parts warranty which allows Baumatic to renage on their responsibility if the cost of the part is high.
As the only real part to fail is a single unit, then any failure will require replacement of this part. So beware, this warranty offers nothing but heartache and pain for the customer in my opinion.

This Was My First Foray Into Induction Hobs.
This was my first foray into Induction Hobs.
We were very impressed with the speed and particularly with the fine control of heating this technology gives.
Everything that can be simmered, boiled or fried in a metal pot, worked a dream.
The fact that the hob never gets too hot, makes for very tidy cooking and easy cleaning.
The touch controls are great, no more plucking off dirty control knobs.
Just remember if the hob is wet or geasy the controls stop working, just give The hob a quick clean with one of those super cloths and hay presto.
There was a slightly annoying clicking noise on the lower power settings, but it fades into the backround of a busy kitchen.
The Bad news:
The Baumatic B24 worked flawlessly for 12 weeks,
then the main ring failed.
then the residual heat "h" display started flickering
then the cooling fan would came on for hours on end
then we started getting a burning smell.
We rang the retailer four times, waited three weeks for a service man to ring to say he was on the way, he asked what product was faulty !!! , when I told him, he laughted and said he didn't repair Baumatic products anymore.
The retailer then explained that Baumatic parts were hard to come by. We were offered a Zanussi model of similar specification, for an extra 400 quid.
The saga continues.
My advise is yes definitely buy an induction hob,
but under no circumstances should you buy a Baumatic model.
He right
We had the similar story after 14 months.
Got different model
