Spend More Time Clearing "blockages" Than Hoovering

This has got to be the worst hoover I have ever bought or used.

Yes, it is light etc

BUT the foam filter is constantly in need of cleaning out, the filter in the middle blocls with just a few hairs

I have one cat and it can't handle the stray hairs from than. It can't handle any amount of dust and don't even get me started on the grand-childrens (paper) crafting

The attachments are not the best of fits. The main Head needs to people to remove it, the extendable pine keeps falling out of nozzle and I keep losing the small brushes as they won't stay in the clip on holder

I am going back to my faithful old Dyson DC1 or my Hoover

I did offer this to a friend to get rid of it and they laughed for some reason

VERY, Very disappointed with Vax - expected a LOT more from them

Worst Hoover Ever

not only is the vax vacuum cleaner the worst , but also customer service is terrible

I had a faulty machine after 6 months from new and vax replaced this in warranty

the new machine completely ruined a brand new carpet after 18 months but vax say that this was out of the warranty because it is 2 years from first purchase !!!! even though it was only 18 months old

they sent round an independent assessor who agreed that the machine was at fault for ruining the carpet and vax took the machine back for tests

After their investigation they stated that the hoover had signs of pet hair ( strange that as I bought it purposely for that reason ) and refused to replace the carpet

I will be taking this up with trading standards now and would not recommend any of their products

Nor will i be buying any ever again

Good and powerfull at the start, them the premotor filter gets blocked up really easy with dust n you have to bang it out every other time you use the hoover, after 3 months the premotor filter isnt covered by warranty. Vax Disappointed Me The First Time, Now I'm Happy!

I've had in all 4 different vacuums since March 2013 ! 2 of which were vax pet zooms. I had so many problems with the pet zooms I changed the machine completely for a bissell, which again broke on me so I changed for a vax power 5 pet ( crazy right ? )

Well I have a male akita. Huge dog with extra fluffy coats that malt like mad ! This vaccuum was purchased simply because it was the same price as the vaccuum iwas exchanging it for, but had better suction, I was reluctant though because of what happened with the vax products I had already tried.

After just 4 days of using this product , you wouldn't even know I have a dog. Not a single hair on my carpets or rugs. I enjoy hoovering every day now just so I can see the results in the cylinder !

It gives you a great work out too, as it have to give it some good elbow grease to push the head across the carpet due to the powerful suction. The added tools are an extra bonus and the hair removal tool glides across rugs like a dream.

I Have Had This Vacuum Now For Approximately A Mon

I have had this vacuum now for approximately a month. After being used to a Dyson, I was pleasantly surprised at the powerful cleaning and suction on this vacuum. Then the niggles started. I can't always separate the metal tube from the hose to enable me to vacuum the stairs and have broken one of the clips trying to separate it. The brushes constantly fall off the holder and I now keep them separate to the vacuum cleaner. The angle on the small turbo brush makes it hard work to use. Last week I noticed that the suction was greatly reduced so took the vacuum apart, washed and dried the filters according to the instructions. Two days later, it appears the vacuum has overheated and has cut out.

Do Not Buy

This is without doubt the worst vacuum cleaner I have ever used.

The only positive point is that it has very good suction power.

negatives are:-

It is heavy to use and very unbalanced. It will fall over very easily and is almost impossible to keep upright when using the tools.

The handle is poorly designed and very uncomfortable to use made worse of course by the fact is so heavy and awkward to use.

The variable hight setting don't quite fit the bill and are difficult to get right.

The motor expels a strong jet of air in front of the cleaner which blows everything in front of it out of the way including, papers on tables, cards on the mantle peice and of course the dust you are trying to pick up.

Emptying is simple but messy in that you enevitably get covered in the dust you are trying to shake into the bin.

We are already looking round for a replacement

Vax C89-p6-b Power 6 Bagless Cylinder Vacuum Cleaner

As Blur had it, Modern Life is Rubbish, and the Vax C89-P6-B Power 6 Bagless Cylinder Vacuum Cleaner is a piece of consumer goods that that punches well above its weight in contributing to that experience. My partner bought this, not from Amazon, from where I should have, but from Curries. Quite soon after buying it it began overheating and cutting out. I was disgruntled by how soon this occurred, but thought must be a blockage, which it was, and I cleared it.

Next time I used it it went again - cut out and overheated. So I took it back to Curries, who chided me for neglect while they obligingly stripped it down and showed me all the other hidden away places blockages could occur. And apparently I need to wash the filters once a week. Blockages were fluff, dog hair, a leaf, silver paper - not unreasonable material to expect a cleaner to deal with. Would they like to refund me so I could go and buy a vacuum cleaner that actually does what it says on the tin, that is vacuums and cleans? Er, no they wouldn't. But, I protested, this one is hopeless, a veritable one-legged-man-at-an-a*se-kicking-party among vacuums....surely they couldn't defend such a hopeless bit of kit as a design?

We just sell them, sir.

But it blocks and overheats all the time?

You need to wash the filters every week, sir, and be careful of what you hoover up. (seriously!)And strip it down and clean it out after every time you use it. Sir.

They phoned up Vax while I was there to confirm that in expecting it to pick up dog hair, bits of paper, fluff - and not stripping it down, washing the filters weekly etc I was operating it outside its performance envelope. They confirmed this but said they would, as a gesture of goodwill, send us a spare filter, which they have, and for which we're pathetically grateful.

So there you have it.

Only buy this if you want to spend as much time being an unpaid service engineer as actually hoovering.

Its a miserable design and just patently doesn't work.

And please also note just how Curries - and Vax - acquit themselves.

Out Of The Box And Overheated Half Way Round The First Room.

Had this thing 2 days and it's going back. Sucked like a beast for about 5 minutes then cut out. It NOW says there is a blockage thanks to the helpful "it's not working properly" light on the back. Left it overnight and cleared soft and hard filters and guess what? It cut out after 5 minutes again. I have a cat, but as far as this thing is concerned I may as well have 4 lions and have been hoovering the lawn. Pants.

Worst Vacuum Ever!

I have a short haired dog but this vacuum cannot handle the hair on my floor.

within a month of normal use it started to block up for no reason, it fires the filter out of the back every 5 mins.

Even after dismantling it and cleaning it shuts itself down after two mins use. It gets so hot it has started melting it's own filter!

I have never left a review of anything before but this vacuum is so bad I felt I had to warn people!
