Vax Mach Pet Vacuum Cleaner

We bought this because Curry's had run out of Henrys and it is a truly awful vacuum cleaner.

Construction: The removable dust container doesn't fit properly onto the body of the machine and you need to use of quite a lot of force to get it to fit.

Use: There are no wheels on the main attachment head so it often sucks onto the carpet making it quite slow to use. The machine was never very powerful but, after around 2 months of use, it lost most of its suction, started overheating and cutting out and making a lot of noise. We cleaned the filters etc but it made no difference so we returned it to Vax for repair. The Vax repair centre were very particular about the machine having to be clean when we returned it so I washed the machine and filters. When we received it back (within a week, the only positive part) it simply had a note inside from the engineer saying "NEVER put wet filters in the vacuum", not very helpful...

As a result, the machine still has no suction and overheats. We are going to return it again, ask for our money back and buy a Dyson or a Beko.

THOUGHT IT LOOKED A BIT SMALL, BUT OH BOY,SMALL BUT PERFECTLY FORMED !

SPED THROUGH THE HOUSE IN A BREEZE, GOT RID OF ALL MY CATS HAIRS,BOUGHT THE PILE UP ON MY LIVING ROOM CARPET AND CLEANED THE SHORT PILE CARPET JUST AS WELL. NOT TOO SURE ABOUT STORING IT YET, HAVE NOT FOUND A

This is an extremely easy vaccuum cleaner to use. It is compact so stores away easily and is easy to manouvre. The good selection of accessories are really simple to attach and the suction is the best of any vaccuum I have used before. It is really easy to empty and clean - and it was amazing how much dirt was collected on first use, which had been missed by my previous cleaner. It is excellent if you have furry pets and overall a fabulous machine!

This hoover is extremely "plastic". The components are very difficult to access when the filters need cleaning. The belt has broken within the first five weeks of owning it. The hoover was in the sale but I wouldn't dream of paying the full price for it.

The Vax Mach Air Pet upright cleaner is an amazing piece of technology!! It is extremely lightweight - so much so that when I first used it, I seriously doubted that it would have the power that I was looking for. I have 2 long haired German Shepherds, a Rag Doll cat, and 3 shorthaired cats, and pet hairs are the bane of my life!! I spend most of my day trying to keep the hairs under control, and vacuuming my life away!! Firstly, the Vax Mach Air Pet is EXTREMELY easy to use - quite simply plug in and away you go! It IS very lightweight, so does not require much effort to use it, AND it is quiet when in use, which is a big plus point I think! It is also VERY powerful - I don't have to go over the same spot twice which is another bonus - and is extremely efficient at cleaning carpets/rugs/hard floors, and also has an upholstery cleaning attachment, which works brilliantly! We live in a bungalow, which has a mixture of hard floors and carpets, and I find that I am getting my cleaning done in half the time, with half the effort, which is fantastic!! My other vacuum is a Hoover, which, compared to the Vax Mach Air Pet is a tank - it is very large and cumbersome, and EXTREMELY noisy! It does the job, but it takes a great deal of effort on my part, and I end up sweating and very tired after cleaning - not so with the Vax!! As a pet owner, hygiene is something that is of paramount importance to me, and the fact that the Vax Mach Air Pet has an anti-bacterial filtration system assures me that my home is being cleaned thoroughly. It is extremely easy to empty - just literally press a button, and it empties - brilliant!! I am delighted with the Vax Mach Air Pet, and have already highly recommended it to family and friends, and have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone.

VAX MACH PET

The most problematic thing was taking the vacuum out of the box - not too easy when you are on your own. However, when it was out, me being me, didn't particularly read the instructions, within seconds, however machine was in use, - oh no! red light on, what's that? Hang on - instructions, OK reset - yey green light comes on and voila - Oh my does this little machine pack a punch or what!!!!! I have another bagless cyclone technology vacuum - this beats the living daylights out of it. Made short work of the carpets I have in the house - actually one of the Chinese rugs looked like new, believe me - I have a Vax carpet cleaner which was probably used in the summer, this vacuum took care of my rug, made it look pristine once more.

OK now for the stairs, always been a bain of my life - how well does this tackle it? Amazingly well, once attachments are on, picks everything up with ease, attachments back on, then upstairs for bedroom carpets and landing, again with ease despite the varying lengths of the carpet, very impressive - oh did I say that I had wooden floors too? No worries

I even took the vacuum up into the loft room one handed, with no problems, as it is so lightweight to carry, again tackled that carpet beautifully. Emptying 'bag' is a doddle, unclip, pop into old plastic bag, clip up, ACE.

I have three cats - two silver grey - therefore pale hairs get everywhere - I mean everywhere - and a long haired black cat, all gorgeously beautiful but what a mess they leave. This Vax tackled it all without a backward glance and just a shrug - as if to say, OK Next.

In my opinion overall, a brilliant, brilliant, lightweight machine that tackles everything in its sights. Really easy to assemble, I love the fact that it is so lightweight, really powerful, not too noisy. The only disadvantage I could write about is that the flex could be a wee bit longer, I would like the hose to be completely 'free' and the turbo charger - which is a great idea - to be able to 'bend' and adjust so can do the stairs at a different angle.

Due to the hose and the turbo chargers lack of angle, I attached to the (flexi) hose put the vacuum in front of me as I stood on the stairs and it was like a mini whirling dirvish - tackled the long cat hairs/short cat hairs with absolute ease and with still the suction there considering resting on the stairs.

I love, love, love this little guy, amazing body, up to any task, certainly fit and well muscled for any household chore you put in its way, my Hero - swoon. Therefore my point of view a definite 10 from me, great all rounder and certainly would recommend.

Since found out that attachment flexi hoses may be purchased would definitely do this as would make it 100% complete instead of a mere 99.99999%. Just fabulous
