Vax C89-MA-P

When my Vax C89-MA-P Air Pet Multicyclonic Bagless Cylinder Vacuum Cleaner first came I was impressed by how much packaging was around it. It was so well packed they could have played football with the box and the contents would not have been damaged. Then it went together so easily I decided to have a pay with it, like you do.

I tried to take it all apart and take the filters out to see how easy they all come out and I must say it is so much easier than my old lump of a Hoover.

I then started on the worst carpet in the house to give it a real work out, and when it glided over it with no problems leaving the carpet looking like new, you could have knocked me over with a feather. We had been thinking of getting rid of that carpet as no other Hoover had ever been able to get it even anywhere near that clean. We had tried all the tricks, stiff brooms, moon walking in trainers the lot and this lovely little Vax C89-MA-P Air Pet Multicyclonic Bagless Cylinder Vacuum Cleaner had done it in a matter of minutes.

It also made short work of the wooden floors, tiles and stairs, although you still have to hold it with your knee as it is a bit wide for the step but if this is its only fault then who cares.

I LOVE IT.

I have three cats and a dog and not one of them were bothered by it whereas they used to run for the hills with my old one so this is a must for any animal lover.

So if it lasts anywhere near the 6 years they guarantee it for then I will definitely be replacing it with another on of these.

The first thing that I noticed was how much lighter the new Vax was against our old upright, and was impressed with all the tools that is included, usual things like the flexible hose which is very long, a telescopic metal tube extension, combination floor head for floors and carpets, crevice tool but also come with a Turbo tool, Turbobrush, Dusting brush, upholstery tool and a handle which connects to the flexible hose and holds tools.

Everything clicks in to place really easy, once ready you notice how quite the Vax is, and how powerful the unit is, had only vacuumed a couple of days before the Vax arrived and was amazed how much more dirt came out of the carpets, another good feature is the telescopic metal tube that slides out and that the tube and hose allowed me to hoover the stairs with the Vax at the bottom of the stairs.

The next easy part is emptying out the dirt, press of one button, detaches the cylinder part from the unit, hold it over the bin and one press of a button and the dirt empties out, couldn’t be easier, have not needed to clean filters yet, but from the instructions you can see how easy it would be to do.

Also the Vax is for cleaning pet hairs, works really well as now have two bald cats, (only joking about the bald cats) but the unit does pick up pet hairs very well and with all the tools supplied to do various jobs such as curtains, sofas etc, cannot fault the unit, everything from ease of use, to cleaning capabilities, to maintenance and even comes with a six year warranty,

This is a fantastic hoover. I was amazed at how easily it picks up stubborn dog and cat hairs which in the past I would have had to have resorted to scrapping up for hours with a stiff brush, brush head of old hoover or my shoes before actually being able to hoover the clumps.

There is absolutely no loss of suction which when hoovering up plenty of dog and cat hair is very important! With my old hoover, it would only have had powerful suction over about a square foot before losing the will to pick up anything!

The hoover is light, so easily transportable around the house and up and down the stairs without having to stop move it and re plug back in. The hoover comes with some very useful attachments but is so efficient with the brilliant rotating brush I find I use that most of the time.

Hoovering is one of house chores which should be done regularly but it depends from your vacuum cleaner will this be relaxing and pleasant experience or half and hour of nightmare.I loved and hated my upright Dyson at the same time.It was easy to use for general cleaning. Vacuuming stairs, places under sofa bed, coffee tables, was such a pain, hard to manoeuvre and heavy to lift, especially when hoovering stairs.Pet hairs was also present even after hoovering.But time changed...

Now I'm deeply in love with my VAX C89-MA-P AIR Pet Multicyclonic Bagless Cylinder Vacuum cleaner.This lightweight vacuum cleaner is powerful but at the same time it is quite too which is so nice after noisy Dyson.It is easy to assemble and easy to use.

It is easy to hoover spaces under beds and sofa beds.Flexible hose together with telescopic extension tube is long enough to hoover stairs there is no need to lift vacuum cleaner anymore.To be honest it is much easier.Most important thing VAX vacuum cleaner do decent job on cat hairs. Our cat Godzy( Godzilla in full name)left lot of hairs everywhere.Vax is must to have for pet owners its so powerful and with turbo tool even stubborn hair is gone(not from cat but from carpets and upholstery:)

Emptying and cleaning the dirt container is easy take out dirt container press button and that's it!Simple!

The condition of filters affects the performance of vacuum cleaner that's why it is advised to clean filters periodically!

Primary separator and pre-motor filter should be washed in max 40C and before use should be let to dry for 24 h

It's good excuse to have break from vacuuming for 24h ! Isn't it?

The Hepa post motor filter should be cleaned not washed.

Wipe clean cycle separator but it should be completely dry before you will use it.

It take me a while to find cycle separator it was inside dirt container!

I'm sure you will ask why I wanted to find all those filters?

I like to know where every filter is placed because sooner or later there will be need to clean them and it's better to find them in new and clean vacuum cleaner then in dusty one!

About price.My mum always told me that good things are expensive one but usually they work longer and better than cheaper ones and its better to have good hoover for ages then change one every year.

Expensive or not?

To my mind this vacuum cleaner is worth every penny because:

I thought my Vax upright cleaner was the best ever until i got hold of this.The thing that strikes me most is the powerful suction.With cream/biege carpets,three black cats,two dogs and a passal of kids running up and down the stairs i found it hard to keep my carpets clean.That's where the turbo brush comes in.Attached to the very long hose it picks up the most stubborn hair as i make my way up the stairs.No lugging heavy uprights anymore,i just pick up my cylinder and take it with me.

There are many different tools,and apart from the turbo brush for pet hair i love the combi carpet/hard floor tool.Just push the switch with your foot and change it over as you move from one to the other.The upholstry tool is great and i also use it for going over the stairs as it brings the pile up lovely.The telescopic extension tube makes getting into those hard to reach places like behind the tv,under beds or corners of ceilings alot easier.The dirt container is easy to empty and clean.

I can't fault any part of this cleaner and i wish i'd known just how simple and efficient it was before buying an upright.If you've got pets(why do they always groom on the carpets?)then the stylish Vax C89-MA-P cylinder cleaner is the one.

The VAX C89-MA-P Air Pet Multicyclonic Bagless Cylinder Vacuum Cleaner arrives well packed in a sturdy box. First impressions of the cleaner itself when taken out of the box are very favourable. It looks very sturdy and is certainly eye-catching in its grey and magenta livery.

Putting it together is very easy; just snap in the flexible hose/handle, push on the telescopic extension tube and your ready to choose the required tool. This is where things get a little more complicated. Our Vax came with a somewhat bewildering selection of tools: Turbobrush; Combination floor head; Dusting brush; Crevice tool; Upholstery tool; TurboTool; and TurboTool connector. Though daunting at first, especially for a mere male of the species, it doesn’t take long to allocate the appropriate jobs to each tool and decide which ones you will use the most.

The Dusting brush and crevice tool can be stored in the handle, but, disappointingly, the smallish Upholstery tool is not accommodated and may go missing as a result.

Once you have selected the correct tool however, any misgivings disappear.

The VAX Air Pet is a match for anything a hard floor can throw at it. Jasper, our Labrador Retriever, as anyone with a Labrador will know, seems to make it his business to ensure that the floor is well covered in yellow hairs, bits of carrot (yes he loves carrots) and the occasional shredded tissue. The VAX deals with all of this with ease. It is easy to manoeuvre, has fantastic reach and has suction second to none. Our Dyson is going away now and will only be used in an emergency.

Day to day cleaning of carpets with the Turbobrush is also very good and any really stubborn areas, for instance where our short haired cat Jess has been laying/cleaning, are no problem for the TurboTool which picks up any hairs knitted into the carpet. The TurboTool is also ideal for getting pet hairs off furniture and car seats.

The three remaining tools (Dusting brush, Crevice tool and Upholstery tool) are fairly standard and do what it says on the tin, or the instruction booklet in this case.

But there is one last gem. This VAX is much, much quieter than a Dyson. And for the first time since we got Jasper, it is possible to vacuum the house without him barking and trying to attack the vacuum cleaner. Bliss indeed.

As you can see, I have been rather busy since we got our new VAX, but dog and cat hairs wait for no man. The only problem is, I may have got the job of vacuuming the house on a permanent basis! But maybe that’s no longer such a bad thing.

Let me start by saying that I am disabled and for a long time have been looking for a Vacuum cleaner that I can use from my wheelchair. When the Vax C89-MA-P arrived I found it easy to assemble and as a wheelchair user very easy to use. The the flexible hose once clipped into the main unit can clip into an extendable tube. This has a rachet system which means you can unlike most other cleaners adjust the height so it is the right length to use from my chair. I was amazed to find out I can even reach the ceiling with it to get at the awkward places using the crevice tool. Unlike previous cleaners it is easy to take apart to clean it too. Press the unlock button and it lifts apart, the dust and dog hairs (we have an Welsh Border Collie which appears to be in a contiuous molt) stay enclosed until you release the bottom lock straight into the bin or bag if you wish. It has a long hose and I can put it in the centre of the hall and dont need to move it much and reach both ends ot the hall.It has a very good suction probably the best I have seen and is more powerful than our other cleaner. It comes with 6 attatchments including a turbo brush. I can't wait to try it on the convertable van (Wheelchair Access) so there is carpet in the back behind the second row of seats. Due to its size I am able to put it on my lap and use the chair (Wheelchair is electric) to transport it around the flat. Not so easy with larger or upright cleaner. It is so compact yet has great power. I rate it at 10/10 great system for disabled people who want to be a bit more independent.
