Value For Money
I'd Just Moved Into My First House And Came Across
I'd just moved into my first house and came across an offer in Asda at the end of an aisle for a Performair vacuum for £29.99. Seemed like a lot of vacuum for the money and I needed one so went for it.
On getting home I discovered everywhere else was selling it for £80 to £120 so quite a bargain if it was any good.
Surprisingly it was. While the cheap chinese construction was a bit obvious in places it worked really well, with an immense amount of suction that was really impressive.
Over time it got delegated to be the DIY vacuum being much abused sucking up debris and levels of dust far beyond normal house cleaning. It did this without problems.
What it isn't is quiet, if you adjust the power control to maximum it would wake the neighbours at night not just in the next house but probably a couple more houses further on.
Over time I've managed to create a small split in the plastic of the top housing and very occasionally the motor sounds like a bit of dust has got through and the tone of it changes just for a millisecond.
It came with a generous amount of tools. Being a basic cylinder cleaner it doesn't have the powered brushes of an upright cleaner or more sophisticated cylinder cleaner so its not super amazing on carpets. With the brushes down its too much like hard work and with them up it just gives a quick surface clean.
What is a great feature is the huge capacity it has for dust. Very good.
It does occasionally get blocked in the tubes due to me being too ambitious about what it can suck up and too lazy to search for the dustpan and brush.
Overall an excellent value product and a big thumps up to morphy richards for selling such a capable vacuum at such a silly low price.
