Hoover DM4520 Dust Manager (silver/blue)

A very poor performace hoover. This model is more of a hindrance than a help. The thought of just getting it out and using it. Is far worse than any other household chore.

The Hoover DM4520 Dust Manager is the most non user friendly cleaner I have ever owned.

If this is the best that Hoover can do I would suggest that you buy a different make. Filters clogged constantly causing the motor to cut out. It was impossible to use the cleaner for more than 10 / 15 minutes without the engine cutting out.When we complained Hoover sent an engineer out who stated that it was badly designed and had to drill 2 holes in the back of the Hoover to allow more air flow.

It cuts out after a few minuted , gets blocked and needs emptying 3-4 times you hoover the house, I would advise people to get a good brush and shovel before wasting any money on the worst thing i think i ever bought.

On the whole after using this Hoover DM4520 Dust Manager I would not buy a Hoover again.Would spend more money on one that was more reliable.

This Hoover is not lightweight, try carrying it up the stairs with one hand. The suction doesn't seem to be very good, but worse of all it cuts out due to overheating after about 10 minutes and you have to wait around 20-30 minutes before it will work again. A 30 minute Hoover of my house has just taken 2.5 hours, no fun (and it's Christmas!).

Keeps cutting out.

Foot break will not hold handle upright, very bad design.

Heavy.

Noisy. Why don't hoover admit its got major faults instead of advising you to keep cleaning out.

Had to buy another cleaner to clean this one , hoover should sell one get one free.

Stick to Dyson!

For a Hoover model I am very disappointed in it. I specifically spent a bit more money on this one believing that the make and model would keep going for years. My previous vacuum of a different make and cheaper, with a bag, had been going without a problem for at least 5 years. It's not very lightweight, the hose is not long enough, and the general cleaning power is not good. I won't be buying another Hoover model again, I've lost faith in them!

I was relieved to read that Sarah W had given up on this machine after only a year, because I did exactly the same and felt slightly guilty at not persevering. This model was so badly designed and the constant emptying was such a nuisance that I had begun to put off doing any vacuuming at all. I actually gave the Hoover away in disgust. I have now acquired a Sebo and it's wonderful.

Although we have had this machine for two years my wife has used it as little as possible preferring a non electric carpet cleaner. It is very heavy and extremely noisy. It cuts out frequently although I have cleaned it is accordance with instructions. Having cleaned it a couple of days ago and set it up again it still makes a hell of a noise and has cut out after about ten minutes. I am afraid we shall not use it again and cannot offer it for sale second hand as it would be unfair to a purchase. Shall need to purchase a new cleaner but not a Hoover.

Not very pleased with performance. I was sent a new style collecting box and have to hold front on with tape to stop it keep opening.
