Dyson DC21

Personally I hate this Dyson DC21, I think it's way over priced and over promised. It's not very helpful when you literally have to carry the canister around because it's easier than having it hook on corners and hit walls all the time. You only seem to get great suction when the power head is turned on, but if you turn it off for hardwood floors it barely picks up anything. The issue I've had is, if I want to pick up the dirt, I have to turn the power head on, but that marks my hardwood floors. I'm planning on returning it to the store.

With having a long haired Alsation I have struggled day after day to hoover up her hair and it drove me almost mad. After going through 4 hoovers in the last year I decided to spend a bit more and go with a well trusted name. I have now had my Dyson for nearly 2 months and it is the best purchase I have ever made my floors are COMPLETELY FREE of pet hair and now I dont dread doing the hoovering.

I phoned Dyson's helpline before I made the purchase and they have very helpful and polite staff I explained everything and they talked me through the best hoover for my needs.

I would recommend them to any of my friends and family and I hope this review helped!

After scouring the internet for a new vacuum cleaner and struggling to find some meaningful reviews, thought I had better write one.I am a 36 year old into football, cars and women ...and now Dyson's too!This thing cleans like twenty French maids on Red Bull, a serious piece of kit.Vacuuming is now better than watching my team (Well, I do support Newcastle after all).It makes vacuuming the house a real pleasure (lol). ...and besides all this it looks like a laser weapon from one of the Alien films!!

Overall, my Dyson has lived up to and even exceeded my expectations. It is light, easy to assemble and use.

The suction is excellent when the hose is straight.

Emptying the container is easy, but static electricity will send dust flying so you have to get it down into the waste container before you open it.

I'm very happy with it after 2 weeks of vacuuming everything in sight just to see what comes up into the canister that my other vacuum missed, and I would recommend it. The cost ($600 in Canada) was more than I wanted to spend on a vacuum, but I think the performance is worth the money, as long as it continues to work as well as it does now.

The power head on the Dyson DC21 is noisy and it does not pick up dust on carpet that well.(pet hair). The suction is great on bare floor,the power cord is tooooo short.
