Best Vacuum I've Ever Owned - Over 7 Years Old Too!

I picked this vacuum up at biglots for $79.00, and thought it would be another throw away cheapo.. Man was I wrong! This thing has more suction than Obama's followers. It has withstood the test of over 7 years of beating it around, the main power switch did break from my daughter dropping the cleaner down stairs (i replaced that). I take my air compressor and blow the filter out every so often and it acts like a brand new cleaner. It sucks so hard that sometimes you have to put your back into it. What can I say other than wow - i'll buy another one right now just to keep around in case this beast ever decides to die (which i highly doubt it will!)

I paid £99 several years ago from Tradex for this Bosch Cyclone Jet BUC11700UC and it still works 'as new'. Unfortunately i have to replace it with a lightweight one due to a back injury, (can't get the Bosch up & down the stairs)

I Agree With A Previous Review. We Bought On The

I agree with a previous review. We bought on the reputation that Bosch has, but have been very disappointed. Like all vacuum cleaners it clogs up and needs to be cleared out, however it seems to happen more on this cleaner. When taking it apart it seems very fiddly and complicated, and if you need to take it apart to properly clear it out there are millions of screws. (well at least 12 holding the beater plate in place!).

The final nail in the coffin was when the beater stopped working. Unlike other cleaners which run the beater off a belt, this one has a special motor just for the beater. The motor had failed. After all the hassle we had had with this product over the 2 years we owned it, I just did not have the energy to fit a new motor so got rid of it.

In short - unreliable and disappointing experience.

I experienced the same problem with the beater motor shutting down. There is a quick fix to this usually. There is a "Reset" button just behind where you pull out the hose attachment. This thing sat in my closet for at least a year because I was worried about the repair bill and after I discovered the reset button - it works like a champ again!

The Bosch Cyclone Jet Buc11700uc Vacuum Cleaner Ha

The Bosch Cyclone Jet BUC11700UC vacuum cleaner has great suction. So much in fact, that it requires some effort to push it around. Once you get used to it, you can give your carpets a really good clean by slowly covering each stripe just once.

Unfortunately, the brush motor has plastic teeth on the driving end. When a nail or paper clip jams the brush, this causes these teeth to burn away, meaning another £50 brush motor must be purchased. If just the belt was ruined, I could tolerate that, but this represents a design flaw. Also, as I suspected from new, the cable return mechanism simply isn't up to the job. The main on-off switch is also decidedly iffy. Not what I have come to expect from Bosch.

Great cleaning power, let down by some flaws that should have been designed out.

I have had many satisfactory Bosch products (fridges, freezers, washing machines, tumble dryers etc.) and bought on the basis of the Bosch name for well engineered products. This product lets the side down.

I Was Attracted To The Bosch Cyclone Jet By Positi

I was attracted to the Bosch Cyclone Jet by positive reviews, design and price, I happy threw out my Dyson DC01 and replaced it with the Bosch.

Very impressed initially, but became aware of major loss of suction despite emptying cannister when only 1/4 full. Then I removed the round cartridge filter...

This filter, which according to the manual should only require cleaning 'under certain circumstances e.g. when vacuuming fine particles', was completely chocked out with dust and was a filthy job to clean - if you don't have a wide open space in which to do this disgusting task, then you are in for a shock; it'll fill your house, hands and nose with dust!

This filter will need cleaning out every couple of months, or else you WILL suffer a huge loss in performance.

Finally, after 16 months of ownership, the brush motor burst into flames - never again.

i have to agree with everything that has been said. I too own this vacuum and the paper filter trap blocks up extremely quickly rendering the vacuum virtually useless. i have to take this filter into the garden and tap it hard with a heavy stick to dislodge all the compacted dust. Further more the brushes get clogged up as well and its a job and a half to get all the screws out to lift the brushes clear of the vacuum. My brushes still won't rotate so it looks as if i will need to buy a new belt. Parts are not cheap and the paper filter costs around £25.00! I have only had this vacuum for 18 months. Its good when its clog free but i won't get another.

The Bosch Cyclone Jet Buc11700uc Is Definitely The

The Bosch Cyclone Jet BUC11700UC is definitely the best vacuum cleaner we have ever owned, but it needs to be treated with respect and intelligence.

If you are the kind of person who does not believe in looking after equipment, don't buy one. Our machine is now almost three years old and is still doing a great job. It has failed once when my wife decided to pick up some damp wall paper she had stripped (even though we do have a big 'wet and dry' job for doing just that). The said paper, of course jammed the machine, but I soon got it sorted. "This is a carpet and dust cleaner my dear not an industrial cleaner - please don't do it again!".

The machine is still doing an excellent job, BUT IT NEEDS TO BE USED CORRECTLY!

The Bosch Cyclone Jet Buc11700vc Vacuum Cleaner Is

The Bosch Cyclone Jet BUC11700VC vacuum cleaner is great to start with, but within weeks the brush motor broke. We exchanged the whole machine, and after another 12 months (just out of warranty) the same fault occurred again. I won't buy again!!

After Less Than A Year Of Use, The Beater Brush On

After less than a year of use, the beater brush on my Bosch Cyclone Jet Vacuum cleaner jammed, in spite of cleaning regularly. The plastic melted and fused together. Parts are difficult to disassemble, and almost impossible to find, and service centers are limited.

I would totally agree, with this review. I've had the Vac 1 for just over a year and the beater brush jammed - I have phoned numerous numbers at Bosch UK and it is engaged. Customer service = nil.

Another Teutonic, Over Designed, Mediocre Applianc

Another teutonic, over designed, mediocre appliance trading on an apparent reputation for quality. Similar experiences with Bosch dishwasher and washing machine.

Would never buy another Bosch appliance again - 3 separate (expensive) appliances all with reliability problems.
