I thought I'd try this as a cheap alternative to the more mainstream butters, plus it was also a curiosity buy as well given its rock-bottom price. The Packaging: It comes neatly wrapped in blue and cream wax paper with the Tesco Value logo on it. Not much to say about it's rather unassuming packaging, but hey, it's the contents that are more important. The Butter: First impressions are good when opening the packaging, the butter has a nice creamy yellow appearance and looks pretty much the same as the more expensive variants. I take a small chunk of it to analyse its taste and mmmm, nice salty buttery taste which is just as good as pricier butter. It spreads easily enough when soft and the salt taste is not too overpowering. If I was to pick one small gripe, I would say that it's very slightly not as creamy as pricier butter, but this doesn't really matter given the low price. Would I buy this again? Yes. If you are looking for a cheap no-frills butter that has a good buttery taste then I highly recommend this.
