Purchased this printer this morning from PC World. I had taken the time to research the market and for the money I was prepared to pay the XP-540 seemed a very good fit. I have owned Epson printers for more than 25 years and never had a problem setting them up. Documentation was very scant relying entirely upon a CD rom. This proved to be a nightmare as once problems began you were continually referred to different pages - back and forth I went. Setting up the wifi connection which should have been straight forward was anything but with my wifi passphrase being rejected on four occasions. Finally, there appeared an error message to say that the scanner settings needed to be changed and I needed to reinstall the software. To cut a very long story short with the help of an I.T. technician I managed to get the printer set up manually and all is working well. Four hours I spent om a job that should have taken 30 minutes or so. Print quality is very acceptable and the scanner does the job. The in and out trays are a little flimsy and I will have to see how they ware through time. I'm reluctant to give it anymore stars because of the setup problems. Some of the read reviews referred to this problem. I've probably got what I paid for I will just have to go more up market in future.
