A Truly Unforgettable Red Letter Weekend Experience!

Tortworth Court is not easy to find, but well worth the hunt! It is a magnificent Victorian 'Gothic style' mansion, set in wonderful grounds with over 600 specimen trees.

From the moment you walk in, you relax. The atmosphere is extremely friendly, with incredibly polite staff. We received an upgrade without asking and the room was fabulous in all respects, including cleanliness - not a spot of dust anywhere. This is reflected throughout the hotel, with the spa facilities being superb, particularly the indoor pool.

We had booked for breakfast and dinner, the latter being as formal as you want to make it. An enormous choice for breakfast and a sumptuous dinner menu. I would recommend the wild mushrooms on toasted brioche as a starter - it was so good that I had it both nights!

The hotel provides an excellent gateway to the Cotswolds as well as Gloucester and Bath. There are many delightful little towns nearby and all worth a visit.

If you want to relax and be pampered, then this is certainly the venue to go to. We were given our Red Letter Day Experience and without doubt it was the best present we have had.

Room was lovely, with plenty of wardrobe space and a safe. Shower was a little temperamental on the Sunday morning was not warm at all, I presume this was down to a large number of guests in the hotel, following a wedding reception. The bar was very pleasant and the selection of wines was very good also.

Breakfast in the Orangery was a wonderful setting, however on the Sunday, because of the wedding party?, the food was not hot and they were constantly running out of one thing or the other, so you had your bacon, hash brown and mushrooms but had to wait for eggs.

Our evening meal on the Saturday (again in the lovely Orangery) was excellent, we recommend the bass, and again the wine was very good but they messed up the bill (in my favour by £50), when I queried this on the Sunday morning at checkout (I like to be honest) I got a very begrudging
