Dated & Breakfast Poor
Being the last night of a 11 day round trip from John O Groats to Lands End i decided to effectively upgrade from the 7 previous stays at the Travel Lodge to the Queens Hotel based on (online reviews) so following my stay felt it only fair to post my own review. The hotel environs are lovely downstairs as is the bed to sleep in but thats where it stops im afraid.
The room itself needed a dust down & the shower was cramped & very dated. The upper hallway is old fashioned & i felt more in the environment of an institution than a hotel - this should however not be used as a downside to the hotel itself however is an observation of mine.
Breakfast was sat in metal containers that thus left the fried bread, sausages, bacon & egg on the tasteless and chewy side.
The hotel is in a good position but looks dated externally.
Essentially i was most disappointed with the dated room & shower & the poor quality of the breakfast. (The shower needs 100% upgrading & why can breakfast not be fresh cooked?)
Begrudgingly paying over £112 for one night i left the hotel thinking perhaps i should have stuck with the Travel Lodge & paid for breakfast elsewhere
The staff were all friendly & attentive & cannot be faulted in any way
