“Validating jewellery insurance claim”

The staff member with whom I finally discussed my claim was helpful, courteous and appeared to be efficient. But I found the earlier procedures unprofessional. The first telephone appointment made was double-dated by SBS and I was cancelled. The next telephone appointment was to phone me but no call was received. “Eventually got sorted. ”

I got a satisfactory replacement or alternative to my stolen items, however it was far from smoothe. I had to send photographic evidence then re-send it as it was lost, I had to deal with at least 3 different people who had varying degrees of knowledge of my claim so I found myself having to constantly repeat myself. “Not the best experience!”

Sorry to say that we were left disappointed with the service we received from SBS, who dealt with our claim through our insurance provider Ageas. Our four year old Samsung TV was damaged beyond economical repair, and despite having shelled out for years, had never made a claim on our insurance before, so we weren't really sure what to expect. SBS base all of our replacement validations on the specification of the original item against the most like-for-like products available in the current marketplace. This allows our recommended replacements to be fair and consistent with the original item. Due to the varying (and often decreasing) cost of technology over time, SBS are usually able to provided like for like items (based on technical specifications) at lower prices.

“Replacement of Laptop”

The Service Officer was polite and I certainly got a speedy response after my insurance company phoned to say SBS would be in touch to discuss the replacement.I thought this would take a few days to process,when in fact SBS phoned within a couple of hours. Yes the replacement did arrive but because it's updated, programmes are somewhat different;it's also had teething problems.At one point when I phoned Technical Support there was a query whether I had a faulty computer-time will tell.
Apple say you have upto a yr to purchase an extended warranty at £200.No one to one is offered as the mac was not bought from the store.

“Mixed feelings but overall satisfied”

My Sony Vaio laptop screen cracked a few weeks ago (which is common problem with that model due to the weak casing) so we called our home contents insurers (Groupama) which had the repairs arranged with SBS. They collected the laptop straight away the next day via courier and even texted the hour hour time slot the courier would turn up in so thankfully I didn't have to take the whole day off and sit around waiting.
