I recently took out home insurance through One Call Insurance via It wasn't until I received my policy through the post and checked it against my requirements that I realised that some of my details had changed ie the Mortgage part of my Shared Ownership had been paid off, the rebuild value of the property had increased and my job status had changed. I immediately contacted One Call via their website advised them off the changes. They told me that my policy cost would therefore increase by £100. I said that I could not afford this substantial increase and told them that I was well within my 14 days cooling off period and therefore to cancel my policy. They advised that there would be a £49.99 cost involved in cancelling the policy.
I feel that this is exorbitant, but had no choice and cancelled my policy.... I will never use One Call Insurance again.
It would have been nice to know that the "14 days cooling off period means NOTHING to One Call Home insurance ".
