Worst Experience

i know it too late to write this review about this company.

i sent my baggage from London UK to Calgary , Canada In June 2010.

i took the most expensive package it used to called Gold ( door to door)

i was Guaranteed 1week but my bag took 45 days to reach. and When it was arrived it was damage and stuff was missing. i tried to talk to the management of all fright but i never got any response. I emailed then for months.

I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY

A Joke

This is an email Hellas sent to Allfreight customers whose items are being held and cannot be released because Allfreight have not provided the release documents. My goods left London in August 2012, landed in Australia in November, cleared customers in January and have been sitting in a warehouse collecting dust and who knows what else ever since.

Now this email.

Well it seems that this already very convoluted drawn out process, is getting longer and someone is profitting at other people's expense. Shameful and down right wrong. Next, we'll be getting a bill for the storage.

This is what Hellas had to say:

Dear Allfreight Customers,

We are writing to inform you that our Managing Director received a phone call last night from a source regarding Allfreight Worldwide Ltd.

We have been informed that the Director of Allfreight Worldwide Ltd was taken ill back in December 2012 and has still not recovered.

The source has advised us that during this time there has not been anyone with authority available to authorize the release of outstanding shipments. However, they have also advised that Allfreight Worldwide Ltd acknowledge the situation needs and requires urgent and immediate attention and will devote their limited resources available, to enable a quick resolution from this point forward.

The source also advised that they should have the matters resolved within the next 7 business days.

Allfreight Worldwide Ltd has asked for us to apologise profusely on their behalf to their customers for this significant inconvenience caused to you all and they greatly appreciate all your patience till date.

As soon as the matters are resolved we here at Hellas Europe Australia will be in touch with you accordingly.

We also would like to thank each and every one of you for your continued patience.

Hi. I agree and under Interdean, so the same owners who ran Allfreight don't scam any more people with the new company.

I'm not sure of what can be done though.

I've tried BAR in the UK but they won't help as Allfreight is dissolved. I'm getting very frustrated and concerned for the state of my things.

I have contacted a lawyer in Australia and am looking at legal action, as the email Allfreight have sent leaves me with no confidence at all. They are putting the responsibility with allfreight, a company that no longer exists. What a mess.

ALSO, I repeat of my comment on another review further down this thread. "ALLFREIGHT HAVE REQUESTED COMPANY BE DISSOLVED - BE WARNED!" Allfreight have requested from companies house UK that the firm be dissolved, this was on 27/12/12. If you still have goods or services required from this company you need to OBJECT to the dissolution to Companies House directly which will make the process longer for Allfreight, or else dissolution will happen on 15 April 2013. If we have been fobbed off for long enough and the firm dissolves we are in for another long wait so it is important as many people as possible continue to make an objection through Companies House U.K. Ring them up or email them for further details of how to do this.

We need to put these reviews under the Hellas name too because Allfreight are down the tubes so people won't be able to be taken in by them any longer, but Hellas are the shonky outfit who think they can deliver no explanation and withold goods and threaten people with bikie gangs when they go to Woolli Creek to politely request their goods are returned to them. Post all these under reviews for Hellas and a few more people may be warned in time to steer very clear and importantly to ASK which shipping agent will be used by any firm they choose to send their goods with.

That appears to be a different allfreight company (Allfreight International Baggage. There's several. Same directors and all. But we are dealing with Allfreight Worldwide. It is still active and just lodged accounts on Companies House. Hellas really needs to put in a creditors application for liquidation.

Thanks so much Paul. I hope everyone will write/phone and implore Allfreight to pay its bills, in particular to Hellas Europe in Sydney which is refusing to deliver goods but also refusing to engage in dialogue with customers as to how to resolve this. This has implications for ALL those sending personal effects to Australia as it turns out that shipping agents and associated firms are all unregulated, there are no industry guidelines or anything of the sort, which one only discovers when things go horribly wrong.

Avoid At All Costs

8 months after I asked for my boxes to be shipped. Still waiting. Takes up to 2 months for them to respond to an email. Allfreight's agents in Australia have advised me that my boxes have been through customs and are ready to be delivered pending authorisation from Allfreight to be released. Allfreight have been unresponsive to them as well - apparently this is holding 27 shipments.

No you don't pay fees to Customs, you pay fees for the Quarantine people to give your goods the once over. I have never paid Customs fees before now. Quarantine fees are usual.

adele_lr

I was alwsys told that I would have to pay additional customs fees ehen tge boxes arrived in Australia. Those are the fees charged by Australian Customs to check your boxes. Check the DAFF website. The fees are high and there is minimum of a half hour charge. So there's not a lot that can be done in relation to the additional charges. That is terrible that you haven't received one box. I hope they help you. Otherwise you might be able to claim insurance?

organisedwoman

You have my sympathy, I too paid over the top for made up charges and am pursuing this. It is grotesque that this is an unregulated industry and as such it attracts the wrong sort of 'businessmen' (and women). I urge you to continue the dialogue with Fair Trading, keep badgering them for a written response to your complaint. Do you have a copy of your original paperwork to show that your box did start off with Allfreight, if so you need to get on to one of the former directors who now works Interdean in London, Wembley branch. Phone during UK office hours and he will possibly answer the phone. Try to get him to help although it's a long shot. His name is the one beginning with the fourth letter of the alphabet which is on the list of directors on the companies house website for Allfreight. Join the Hellas Action Group on Facebook if you want some more contacts. If your box was clearly labelled inside and out with your details and phone no's you have a good chance someone will contact you and tell you they have it. Don't despair. Best of luck.

I've reported Hellas to Fair Trading NSW, but I never had any response.

I did receive most of my boxes a few weeks ago after paying $300 in randome customs fees. However, one box was missing from my shipment, and Hellas say they have no idea where it is, as it was never in the shipment sent to them.

Presumably this is something the Allfreight would be able to step back in and clear up - though of course they haven't replied to a single one of the emails I've sent them over the past nine months, so, yeah, they'll be no help at all then.

Anyone have any suggestions as to how I can go about tracking down where my box ended up without any help from Hellas or Allfreight??

ShipShop

I was overcharged despite paying for a door to door service.

I am reporting my case to the office of fair trading (consumer affairs) .

With enough cases, they will send an investigator and we may get some reimbursement of fees

so we must all write a letter each. So far 28 people are affected as per facebook page, there must be loads more though...

I feel sorry for the poor man who has to pay $2000 in fees - just not right!

It Is Very Late

My Boxes were collected since 19 Mar 2012 from Chester England to Thailand Bangkok, and now I am already in Bangkok for more 3 months, totally 112 days even though my boxes still on the way so how terrible they are, and they have never notice me for the late shipping even i sent an asking e-mail to them and the reply was late about 1 week something, and they just sent me the schedule that my boxes will arrive Thailand port on 5 July when i rang to Bangkok agency they told me they can do nothing about it, i should contact allfreight myself but seem allfreight would take no response. Anyway they did fast correction in my case but while the shipping it take so slow over period that appear in paper if i'm not wrong it's said around 2 months not over 3 months but in my case the time is over three month already 112 days i hope it will arrive this year so i won't use it again and not recommend to anyone.

Lost My Suitcase

I went traveling in Australia and came back the the UK without my suitcase. I found Allfreight and their price was reasonable about £190 to fly my 30kg suitcase back to the UK door to door shipping. They collected it but 7 days later when I called for an update they said it was marked as return to sender because DHL (the middle man they use in OZ) didn't have the correct paperwork. I called my friend and she said they never returned it. After WEEKS of e-mails and phone calls all Allfreight could tell me is it was signed out and returned to sender, yet DHL had no signature or proof it was received the other end. After 4 months of phone calls and e-mails all I'm being told is it's lost. Brief outline here, everything I own is in that suitcase. 4 cameras, all my traveling films, photos, letters, ALL my clothes and shoes. The manager doesn't seem to care AT ALL about how upset I am and doesn't reply to my e-mails for weeks. He just said sometimes they get lost that's it. It's a huge 30kg suitcase! After rows and tears he finally did something more and made DHL carry out warehouse checks only to find nothing. I don't believe it could disappear. DHL won't talk to me directly because as far as their concerned I'm not the client.

Using All Freight was the worst decision of my entire life.

UPDATE

I would like to add to the review the loss of the suitcase was not the fault of all freight but the middle man they used DHL. I am not unhappy with all freight for losing my suitcase as it was not directly their fault, but rather for their lack of contact, concern and empathy.

Good Overall

Moved 4 large boxes of household goods from France to UK. Very competitive price and efficient communication, both by email and phone, leading up to the move.

The boxes were picked up and delivered on time. (Special word for the TNT guy in Paris who helped me get them downstairs.) They didn't arrive in great shape though - one had clearly been thrown about a fair bit and turned on its side, and contents were damaged. Nothing life-threatening in my case, but given that the boxes were marked as fragile electronic equipment I wasn't overly impressed!

The only real downer was Allfreight's complete lack of direct contact with the courier services they subcontract to. They told me the courier would ring first thing on collection day with ETA, and when I hadn't had a call by midday I decided I better check they had the right number for me (which the courier would also need to get into the entrance hall of my building). When I rang them, Allfreight said that "I shouldn't presume anything" (including that they would have passed my number on to the courier at all) and that they had no knowledge of which TNT depot was involved since they booked it all through a centralized online system. It was then up to me to find out where the local depot was and chase up TNT with an expensive phonecall. It turned out the courier did have my number after all and was on his way, but it was shabby that Allfreight didn't seem willing to check up on anything at this stage (you pay them to save you stress, not create it, on moving day!)

Overall smooth service, just one piece of advice: give overly clear instructions (including in the language of the place you're moving from/to if not English) including phone number in both places and any access codes to buildings/buzzer names etc. Find out from AF which couriers they use and locate your local depot in advance. If any problems on the day, present them with that info and be firmer than I was about it being THEIR responsibility to deal with the courier!

I should have checked reviews first before I paid deposit...

1 day delay for box delivery... fine, I still got several days to pack.

1 day delay for box collection, not fine... I had to move to another city on the same day... after some communication, one kind staff, J helped me. Finally, I sent boxes as the reserved date.

Then, 3 days delay for box arrival... Most of boxes almost changed shape, and one damaged.

Well~ I got the information from school accommodation laundry room, and thought the company might be reliable...

Now, I totally do not think so.

I seriously hope this company can improve the quality of their service.

The only thing I felt comforted is that they have got a great staff, J.

Thank you for your help.
