Do they still exist as a company? Has anyone received a refund? It was/is linked to the telecoms company Touch Telecom. Is Touch Telecom liable for refund claims?
Ofcom are aware of the situation, but they cannot pursue individual claims.
E7even was a member of Otelo until about April 2006. If I had known all this earlier I would have switched ISP earlier, though there was no guarantee of a refund even before the company collapsed.
E7even.com Has Choppy Service And A Complete Failu
E7even.com has choppy service and a complete failure to provide help in my opinion, I found helpful forums that kept me up to date here. Was really helpful, I hope somebody sues them, I had no connection available for days and couldn't get my line switched over to BT it was ridiculous.

I paid E7even broadband for 24 months up front. It was disconnected, and although I filed for a refund, there is nowhere to trace the refund. Has anyone received a refund from them?
Hi colleagues, even I haven't received a refund from E7even yet. I filed it in June. What do you think we should do? Who do we complain to get our refund back? Please advise.
I haven't received a refund yet either. I filed it at the beginning of July.
Have you received it by now?
E7even Is No More You Now Have The Option Of Waiti
E7even is no more you now have the option of waiting till the 14 July to receive your MAC code from Tiscally or you can sign up to 185K a "new" company that funny enough don't require a MAC code but do require you to pay twice as much as before, sound like a scam to you? However 185k and E7 are not related other than they both rent Tiscally lines so it seems that we all loose and Tiscally wins,
My recomendation = dont sign up to 185K
Reviews from customers that have so far in the past few days have said that they had to sign for 1 year and that they had download limits too, and are not happy with the service

It is now 5th August and I still have not got my line cleared of its mt tag, spoken on many ocassions to OFCOM pile of >>>>>>>>>. No help at all. Has any one else had this problem? J.
you need to register with OFCOM. if your email was *****@*****.e7broadband.com, your line should have a cease order placed on it for the 24th July and will be clear on the 25-26 for your new ISP to take over
Your new ISP can contact BTwholesale on your behalf to see when your line is due to be cleared and if there isn't a date set your new ISP can request for BTw to remove the markers from your line.
Tiscali may be in on the scam, it is 18th July, no Mac code and apparently no way to get one except obtain a brand new second phone line from BT at a cost of £125, and that of course is before you can even think about subscribing to broadband. The industry puppets at Ofcom should be burnt at the stake for their complicity in this.
E7 Appear To Have Finally Gone Belly Up. The Messa
E7 appear to have finally gone belly up. The message from 186uk (ezeedsl)now on the e7 website is to gather up the casualties. The company are offering various plans which of course have to be paid for. If you don't sign up with them the only alternative is to wait until July 14th when your connection with E7 will officially end and you can choose any provider you wish (fingers crossed though as we all know the horror of announcements relating to E7)
I personally have signed up for one month with ezeedsl on their 2mb home package. My connection was restored immediately but 2 days later my speed has not been upgraded to 2mb and I have had no answer to my email requesting more information.
My email addresses and log in details remain unaltered.
At least I'm back on line and can now try to recover my losses from E7 and if this new lot prove to be rubbish as well then I have only paid for one month and can move on (in theory)
There is a refund link right at the bottom of the E7 homepage. Good luck!

E7even Has Been Either Sporadic Or Non Existant Si
E7even has been either sporadic or non existant since November 2005. The company sent me an e-mail. informing me that my log on details had been changed, after they had already changed changed them on the server. This left me with no servece for some weeks, this was only achieved through contacting e7even usng my works e-mail. The connection is to say the least sporadic. The company offered me some compensation for the inconvenience which I had encountered. This I put towards upgrading to 2 Meg at least 3 months ago, but I have still not been upgraded and the service is again out of action.
Their Website Claims No Problems (www.e7broadband.
Their website claims no problems (www.e7broadband.com) but my connection has been lost for two days, they have been unreliable throughout the year and now a message from Ezeedsl.co.uk appears asking for more money even though I have paid upfront! How do I get my refund?

But It Isn't Always Working! Very Unreliable!
But it isn't always working! very unreliable!
When I connect to e7even this morning, I got redirected to a page that says:
"Due to this sudden announcement, your Internet contract has unfortunately been terminated by E7even UK Limited and no further web services are available to you at this time. We, at 186k, have stepped forward in conjunction with our wholesale partner Tiscali (UK) Limited, to offer you a replacement broadband service."
Do you all get the same thing? Or is it just me? (could be just like those email scam thing, you never know...)
I think I have a few months credit remaining, how could e7even just walk out, just like that???? I just visited the e7even website, there's no special announcement and it seems that they're still accepting new business (although when I check "network status" nothing showed up to suggest their network is still working.
TRY TO GET YOUR REFUND FROM E7 PHONE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY WILL GIVE YOU THE WEB ADDRESS.
I have got the same message. It keeps offering me 186K as the option but I'm thinking 'once bitten... maybe' - may now go on to a more known site. Do you have any suggestions?
Pipex Homecall are giving good deals.
My dad is with e7even and the same thing happened to him.
i live in birmingham and i had the same problem. the customer service centre seems to be permanently down. i can't even get a mac code off them so that makes things difficult even if i want to terminate the contract with 7 even. i think the company sucks and i would recommend that nobody join that at all.

To Be Fair To E7 They Seem To Have Got It Together
To be fair to e7 they seem to have got it together now I haven't had any problems since the upgrade fiasco. They did give me the option of 2 months extra free of charge for staying with them, so with tongue in cheek I can say I'm fairly happy at the moment
Further to my last post regarding the E7 collapse here is the URL to the site where I got the info from
http://www.adslguide.org.uk/
Thanks for the tipoff, to date 04 July I still have a connection. I went in to a site [linked from the reviewcentre site] and found this information which might be usefull to E7's victims :-7Even no longer providing ADSL service.
Author: MrSaffron
E7Even was one of the cheaper ADSL providers, but operated with a pricing model that relied on users paying for up to two years in advance. Prior to December 2005, the service has been reasonable for the price being charged but problems began to develop seemingly as a result of transferring customers from one wholesale provider to another over the Christmas period.
Over the last weekend customers trying to access web pages over their E7even UK connection were redirected to a page informing them that if they wanted continuity of service they should sign up to a new provider called ezeedsl.co.uk or face their connections lapsing in the next few weeks and then pay a connection fee again to get another ADSL connection once the existing marker tags on the line indicating it has broadband are removed. Unfortunately it would appear that migration codes are not available, which is very concerning.
A fairly length FAQ on the changes are available at www.ezeedsl.co.uk/faqs.shtml. This provides the detail that 186k is the company behind ezeedsl and that rather than taking over E7even lock stock and barrel, it has made a deal with the wholesale providers Tiscali Wholesale and Netservices whereby rather than these providers just ceasing all connections, there will be a period of time when users have the choice to sign up to the new provider. The new service if people do sign-up carries a 12 month minimum term, and anyone money previously paid to E7even remains with E7even.
It looks as if E7even UK Limited still exists as a company, but due to various problems in the last few months is now an ISP with no customers. This also means if you have paid for months of service that now you will not receive you will need to chase E7even or your credit card company for a refund. If this proves difficult it is time to contact Trading Standards or the Citizens Advice Bureau to ascertain what can be done in your individual case.
We have repeatedly tried to contact E7even to confirm the situation, and in particular details about any refunds and as yet there has been no reply. The customer services centre recorded message is saying the centre is closed but will be open 9am to 5pm, at 09:52 this morning.
This illustrates a fundamental risk when signing up to new providers with low cost pricing models which require pre-payment. Even if users can get refunds, from E7even or their credit card companies, the hassle of dealing with the changes and loss of broadband service are to be weighed carefully.
Update 11:45am Monday 3rd July 2006: 186k has issued a press release, which is reproduced below.
"MARROCCO’S 186k STEPS IN TO RESCUE USERS AT E7EVEN UK LIMITED
In a last minute rescue bid, 186k the fast growing Business ISP has stepped forward to save 12,000 broadband users, following the demise of the services delivered by their troubled broadband provider, E7even UK Limited.
The rescue means that E7 customers will be provided with an alternative solution, with minimal disruption to their services. Once signed up with 186k, users will receive the additional 186k EBS (Enhanced BroadbandService) feature package* free of charge.
Commenting on the rescue, Dominic Marrocco, of 186k, said “We are providing an alternative channel for E7's valued customers, allowing them to continue with the least amount of disruption possible, whilst taking the opportunity to offer the additional benefits of an LLU connection with Anti Virus and Anti Spam protection.
"Users will also benefit greatly from 186k’s Enhanced Broadband Service and financial stability."
Nathan Francis, UK Managing Director of Tiscali Business Service, the wholesale network provider, says: "We are happy to help in offering the new 186K customers continuity."

Good luck all of you involved!
Have you changed you mind as yet??? Turns out your extra two months are worthless as well as the rest of your contract now they have gone bust!!!
If you've received the message we got this morning you probably are feeling foolish for even believing in their offer of 2 extra months 'free service'! We've had a lousy service recently (when its been working that is!) and are £128 out of pocket. Only offer we now have is to spend yet more money signing up to another Company who have taken over. Lesson learned - go with a reputable name in future and don't be swayed by the 'low & attractive' price as we now can see that it comes to nothing.
Received No Service, Faulty Rowta And Customer Car
Received no service, faulty ROWTA and customer care non existent. Changed their name to E7 broadband. Calls cost £1 a minute and speaking to anybody takes about half hour or not at all. Left messages- no reply. Or if there was, we were always out. Was given migration code, incorrect 4 times and have been unable to move to another internet service since December 2005. Still ongoing problem. Have not received refund. This has been going on for 7 months. Terrible service. Looks like a scam. Caused us students a lot of stress and we have lost £240. We have complained to ofcom and onetel. I have been phoning them non-stop regarding the refund and have been ignored and put to one side. Was told the refund department would phone but still waiting on it. What next?
