Mis- Sold Contract

I am a Sole Trader and was recommended Chess Telecom.com. Chess have been supplying my telecom services for the last 4-5 years and initially were cost effective for which I was satisfied. Their Customer Service representatives were equally satisfying if I felt the need to speak to someone about a minor discrepancy with my Bill. I am very sorry to report that all of the above has changed dramatically whereas I have been mis sold a Contract whereas I am being charged for services I do not require nor use. I am unable to communicate with any member of staff who will discuss the matter in hand, merely to be told that I have signed a contract with them and that is that. I have sent numerous email's and had no reply, not even a curtious call. The service is just appalling merely just interested in taking my hard earned money and charging me accordingly. I have stopped the direct debit and have been charged for that. This Company are absolutely, I feel, ripping people off and should be stopped. I would not recommend them and advise other people to consider their options carefully when signing up any telecom contract, especially with Chess.

Please Avoid At All Costs

Very difficult to get through to customer service. Never replied to emails or phone calls when told they would get back to me. Then they cut me off with no warning when I was arranging to leave them. Awful company!

A Law To Themselves

Having been in business for over 10 years, and having dealt with tens of service contracts for different aspects of my business, I can honestly say I have never seen anything as dishonest as this company's behaviour. I have never complained nor been in dispute with any company, neither am I disorganised. Chess telecom display charlatan behaviour. They are under the impression that they are able to collect erroneous direct debits from a customer's account, for amounts that have not been agreed. That's bad enough, but when this is brought to their attention, they fail to reimburse the customer, nor credit their account, in fact they feel they are within their rights to simply carry on. I am an individual with an immense amount of patience, but my tolerance ran out after dealing with them over 12 months. I have in writing from chess telecom that they continued to take funds out of my account for a line we shouldn't have been charged for, yet despite phone call after phone call, they took no action whatsoever. Did they really think I would pay double the amount for my entire 3 year contract?

Amazing though that they did finally sit up and take notice when I terminated their contract. Chess feel that they are now also able to administer cancellation fees and termination fees, even though they have caused the entire billing problem. I want to warn others about the behaviour of this company. I am a health professional and I am seriously concerned about the conduct of this company. I have already reported them to our own association. I think they may be using scare tactics and threats with the elderly or vulnerable, or anyone else they see as an easy target. OFCOM please investigate this company.

Having been approached by several sales rep of different companies, I am glad I made a decision to go for Chess Telecom. It was the cheapest of all, smooth switch over, no interruption or a fuss. Saved me fortune. The only thing I did not like was the fact the sales rep was a bit pushy but I can see why, he genuinely believed in his services he was offering and was very confident. Sales rep from Onebilltelecom, Titan, Unicom and Xln were the worst lot....no credibility and did not appear as confident as the Chess Sales rep.
